MainelyReefer
The YCG is eating flakes and owning the tank like the boss he is. also added a test frag of leptastrea which is about 50% happy so we will see if I can move in more once it’s 100% 7 Quote Link to comment

MainelyReefer
Tank is going through the dry rock uglies! Not worried and take it to be a good sign! loaded in some more frags for good measure, accidentally glued one of the heads on the blasto, sure it will be ok With the leptastrea being happy in here I plan on fragging what I can from my drop off and moving it in here, as I have moved a pistol in there and he is depositing rock on them 6 Quote Link to comment
MainelyReefer
The bloom of algae is gone, I added a liverock from the reefer 250 I shut down. This caused a bacterial bloom and the water smelled like low tide for a day, so I did a 5g water change and everything settled down. There is known aiptasia but I will remove what I can see, this particular rock was buried by my pistol shrimp as his dens main structure for months but I still see a few small aiptasia. Got some fish off live aquaria, the pink streaked wrasse was DOA, now I have 50$ credit that won’t be used for months. Looked like it was dead for awhile. Luckily for the Tanakas Pygmy wrasse and the wheelers shrimp goby they made the trip perfectly safe. My wife did think the tanakas Pygmy wrasse was dead in the bag too because it is such a strange fish Yellow Clown Goby loves his new Yellow Scroll Coral. A good $15 coral for his sake. The YCG has been getting along with the new arrivals rather swimmingly. Also a yellow feather duster in the background to the right... a very yellow picture 7 2 Quote Link to comment
A.m.P
Love the way this is shaping up, that clown goby is so darn cute but I hate to hear about the wrasse. 2 Quote Link to comment
devaji108
bummer about the DOA Fish, there store credit does suck! miss the good ol days. but I guess it's better than nothing. I have been thinking about the yellow clown goby for many months I do like there personality. I wonder if the RFA will think there dinner?? 3 Quote Link to comment
DNR88
Another Pygmy wrasse, nice to see! And it is true that it seems like they no longer live in the bag, I had the same thing with two of them.. 2 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Sorry about the DOA. I am not happy about the change from getting a refund to getting a credit. For me getting the order total high enough to qualify for the free shipping is demanding enough on one order. To do it again to redeem the credit it too much. Too much money and maybe too much livestock depending on tank size. 4 Quote Link to comment

I will not get on my L.A soap box but I do miss the good old days where they had the best C.S around and took care of there customers. for us with small tanks or that live in rural areas it just sucks big time... i'll stop griping ...back to the fun 😄 2 Quote Link to comment
MainelyReefer
Sad update.... yellow clown goby jumped to his death. He was still pliable when I found him like a year old gummy bear. Worst part is the lid I have in the making won’t work as it would sit in the water. Thought I had left enough wiggle room in my AIO design but once the filter floss gets dirty the display rises just enough to touch the bottom of the lid which is aluminum so I’m not comfortable leaving it. Other options include getting glass cut to lay on top, or I know the IM DIY pro series lid is slightly elevated above the wall of the tank... issue is both my lights rest on the tank wall and the IM lid would get in the way so the lights would be resting on the lid rather than the tank. Not liking that idea. And a glass lid that was on top could potentially allow condensation to escape under the edge. So now I need to find 6mm lid clips that don’t have the bottoms rest in water. I have IM lid clips but always have salt creep issues with them. Perhaps go lidless and hope my $90 tanakas wrasse doesn’t jump? And the wheelers too. Looking like going lidless is the easiest and if these guys jump just don’t get fish. Here you can see available rim space is limited 2 4 Quote Link to comment
A.m.P
Acrylic display clips maybe? https://www.reflectwindow.com/products/clear-plastic-90-degree-2-way-display-connector?variant=29518812250230¤cy=USD&gclid=Cj0KCQjw09HzBRDrARIsAG60GP8YLcrBc-FoIova3bgjJthgaCK92YmO-W3u1b5EDFtfzFfk0ACWIFEaAip6EALw_wcB Quote Link to comment
MainelyReefer
So last week I went to a LFS to get a pistol shrimp in hopes that his burrow making would encourage my wheelers goby not to jump out as he has a house. While at my LFS I notice the small candy cane pistol was paired with none other than a very small wheelers goby. He is half the size of my other one. So I bought them. and a green plate coral for $45 as these things are awesome to feed! Put food on the edge and the little tentacles funnel it towards the center! i also added a blue current led strip and changed the 10000k t5 to an actinic which has made the tank too blue. Plan on reverting back to a 10000k/actinic until I can get an ATI bulb. Preferably I would have a blue+ and either purple+ or coral+ but I scored two extra actinic bulbs at petco for $5 each and couldn’t refuse a good deal so maybe just a coral+ with the actinic and LED? Who knows but it’s currently too blue wheelers sharing the same den And of course I saw a 1 3/8” pink streaked wrasse on DD and I have it arriving today, so last night I put together the red sea lid kit even though it may touch the water if the floss is too dirty so I will be changing the floss every 2-3 days. Better update this weekend with better pictures. Lots of corals being added. 2 Quote Link to comment

MainelyReefer
Arrived alive! and before I added him I snagged a photo of the tanakas! Hoping they get along and encourage each other to be less cryptic 4 Quote Link to comment

MainelyReefer
Scored a nice $40 mini colony of Grubes Gorgonian from my local forum. Also traded my Banggai cardinal for a frag of Montipora spongodes and setosa. The banggai went to a 125g display so cant complain! The setosa is pretty rough looking but hoping I can turn that around, and the spongodes looks great and self fragged in the bag so I put the tiny chunk in another tank. Gorg in tank starting to open, I cut a decent sized branch off for another tank and might strategically frag a few more branches 3 Quote Link to comment
devaji108
love it! on my list for sure. Quote Link to comment
