And corals that have good polyp extension like leathers and acros. So a true mixed reef. Livestock: TBA Official February 2020 FTS: 8 Quote Link to comment

debbeach13
I like your tank choice. Good luck in the contest. Will you be building the rock wall up even higher to hide more of the AIO section? 1 Quote Link to comment

MainelyReefer
A look under the hood you can see I got carried away with #16 Weldon, good thing is the AIO won’t fall apart! I did break the two center teeth on the overflow while cutting with a circular saw but I glued the living shit out of them. the floss holders bottom part is removable it sits on two clear pieces of acrylic that are welded in place To access the pump you first have to remove the float valve and heater. Its a squeeze! Don’t expect me to clean my equipment often! 4 2 Quote Link to comment
MainelyReefer
Put the light on today, perhaps a bit too white so I may invest in an led strip light for some pop, and consider using ATI blue plus bulbs in like 3 months. I did just score some actinic bulbs from petco for 5$ each so will be running those no matter what. Maybe one blue plus and one actinic plus LED once these stock bulbs are slightly used also added my Yellow Clown Goby from my 2.5g drop off as he deserves an upgrade. MainelyReefer
Added a nassarius snail to help pick up left over foods from feeding the YCG, brown turd on the back right is a green ricordea I threw in too. added three polyps of Rasta zoas but one got damaged added two gorgs from the red sea reefer I am taking down, these are attached at the base to live rock rubble that came in with a KP aquatics order over two years ago now. So I am using this rubble as my “live rock” to seed the tank. I am picking hydroids and aiptasia off already though so it’s under surveillance because I am not putting up with aiptasia in this tank I got lucky with my DIY overflow accepting just enough to allow me to max my pump, almost goes over! I imagine it will if algae/snails obstruct part of it 5 Quote Link to comment

MainelyReefer
Polyps out crash landed the millennium falcon in here, what to encrust it with???? also these are not final placements just placed for maximum observation 6 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Nice additions. Great to see the polyps out right away. I bet the YCG likes having some more stuff and feels more comfortable. I know you mentioned feeding as your theme. Is the YCG eating in his new home? One of the other contest tanks is Starwars themed. Will this tank also be in a galaxy far far away? 4 Quote Link to comment
A.m.P
Its gotta' be pavona or lepto for the metallic look right? I guess c3p0 litho would make sense too... Fender bender cyphastrea always looks great if you can find it on the low, recently fell in-love with Skittles bomb too XD 2 Quote Link to comment
SaltyGallon
Super cool tank dimensions and digging the AIO rockwork! 😎 1 1 Quote Link to comment

The YCG is still acclimating but I fed him plentifully before the move in anticipation of this situation. He moved from the corner of the tank to the corner of the overflow... an improvement! I added stuff last night to make him feel more comfortable as I’m sure he could tell beyond bacteria and algae he was the only life form haha. I saw the Star Wars themed tank... not taking it that far but hope this tank looks like it’s from a galaxy far far away in a year 5 Quote Link to comment
MainelyReefer
Added a small frag of blastos from my main tank, Rastas open and visible lower left two small leather corals, and a small green trumpet frag that might die as it was taken from the severely shaded portion of a colony, if it dies I’ll take another better frag added this rock with a red sponge encrusting most of it. I had to scrape some hydroids off, there is hair algae remaining on it and who knows what else but I feel like the bacteria and other beneficials it offers outweighs the challenges it presents these hydroids have been scraped off with a scalpel fed the YWG frozen brine shrimp and he couldn’t resist! Plus he’s claiming his space in the rockwork, thinking he needs an SPS frag to harass 4 Quote Link to comment

This systems' AIO insert looks great lol, I love how pragmatic and compact it is. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
