Coolbreeze
Turn on your Heartbeat on your Apex. By default it is not on. When the Apex lost connection to the internet or power outage you would have gotten a notification from your Apex cloud account that it cannot communicate. 1 Quote Link to comment

McCune
Tank is stable recently. Debating on if I should toss my rock flower collection and maxi mini collection in the cube 1 Quote Link to comment
McCune
So things have stabilized lately and I decided to transfer all my rock flower anemones over. I will eventually transfer my maxi mini nems but that will take some time as they are incredibly hard to get off the rocks they are attached too. This is my November FTS and a few others 2 Quote Link to comment
McCune
The rock flower anemones are settling in. They have moved around a little. I have a cluster all on one rock in the front which is nice and a second cluster on the sand in the front. Then there are a few who did not get the message and have moved all over the place. Two are way in the back, of course one is an awesome splatter looking one. I will see how these guys do for a while then try to figure out how I’m going to get my maxi minis off of their rocks and into this tank 1 Quote Link to comment

McCune
I broke down my 50 gallon today. I was able to chip the 5 maxi mini I have off and tossed them in a nem box in the cube for now. I also tossed my melanurus wrasse wrasse in the cube for now. He will be going to the LFS to trade in eventually. Once I see how the nems are doing I will try to snap some pics and get them placed into the tank Quote Link to comment

McCune
January 2021 FTS This 365 challenge has had some serious ups and downs. Started the tank then Covid 19 hit and all the shut downs. Tank was going and cruising along with not much added to the tank. Then everything seemed to settle in and the tank hit its stride. Cue the ominous music. My family took an amazing vacation in Cape Cod. Great week so much fun in the sun with the kids....... When I returned home from vacation I knew something bad had taken place. The smell as soon as you came in the basement told me I had significant losses in my tanks. The tanks had been over 85 degrees for most of the week and I lost so many fish and corals. I was able to weather that storm and eventually get the tank back on track again. Famous last words.... In October my home and both me and my wife’s cars had a tree fall on them. My Tundra was totaled and so was my wife’s MDX. Also we had a good amount of damage to the house. So needless to say my mind was occupied by more important things than the tank, but I have to say several months of no hands in the tank and bare minimum maintenance turned the tank around and everything was looking pretty good. I shut down my larger tank and the cube took in all the maxi mini carpet nems and rock flower nems. 2020 sucked in so many ways but in other ways it gave us back more time with our family. I will keep the cube chugging along and make more additions in the future thanks for the fun year Just a few of my favorite shots 2 Quote Link to comment

McCune
A little update for the cube. The cube went for a drive and it now setup in my office. Got it moved over on Thursday last week. On Friday it was a little cloudy still but everything in it was looking good. Quote Link to comment
McCune
A little update on the cube. I moved a bunch of my corals to the tank in my office. Last night I was able to score some great corals from a local reefer who was moving out of state. Here are a few shots Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
That is a wonderful haul. I hope they all do well in your tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
McCune
I forgot to update prior to the corals being put into the tank. I had moved the tank on a Thursday with minimal corals to get it running. Fast forward a few days and i relieved that the few corals in the tank looked small and stressed. I stick my hand into the water to check the equipment and I immediately noticed the tank felt cold. I pulled the heater and it showed that the tank was hovering around 70 degrees. I ran home and grabbed a bigger heater from another one of my tanks. Problem was solved and everything was on the up and up. I am always torn when i put heaters in my tank, how much i should oversize them to keep up with the cold weather. How do you feel when it comes to over sizing heaters? Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
I usually go one size up. If a 75 watt is correct I go with 100 watt. Sound like you caught it in time. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
McCune
I should have a few new fish that will be going into the tank by the end of this week beginning of next week. Nothing crazy just a few hardy fish to add some movement to the tank. Quote Link to comment
