Craig.
Hi Everyone, Sorry to keep you waiting 😓The cycle has completed and we recently added our first coral (a cute toadstool leather) and a senior pair of black & white ocellaris! They're over 7 years old and just so adorable - their name's are Big Mumma & Lil Daddy 😂They have so much character and we could watch them all day. Acclimatising: You can see why she's called Big Mumma! They're free! Over next couple of weeks we'll be monitoring water parameters, doing weekly water changes, and trying to keep our hands out of the tank as much as possible. Ange & Craig 8 Quote Link to comment
Vleis
GORGEOUS, Double check the placement of the toadstool, it might overshadow corals you want to add later. I would suggest lower rim. But prob one of the most exiting threads here, cant wait for updates 1 Quote Link to comment
Craig.
Room update! We installed some shelves up on the wall and found the most perfect pair of armchairs. I think this is officially our favourite room of the house! This is our youngest cat Cookie: And our eldest girl, Petal! Thanks for dropping by! Craig & Ange 7 Quote Link to comment

Craig.
Hi folks! Many more corals have been added and so far they are all happy 😁 Big Mumma and Lil Daddy are enjoying their new home, but they are super agro when we put our hand in the tank 😅 We've ordered a lens so we can get some better pics of the tank (coming from the planted tank world, we never had the issue of blue light affecting the smartphone camera!) For now, here's a full tank shot and some houseplant goodness! Until next time! Craig & Ange 8 2 Quote Link to comment

We had to relocate the tank to the other side of the room after realising it was directly underneath the ceiling access hole! Lesson learned 😊 We're now into day 5 of the cycle and it's going smoothly so far. Using Dr Tim's One and Only to help the cycle process. The sand is Caribsea Fiji pink which was washed beforehand to minimise clouding. Full tank shot! Nestled amongst our houseplants. Closer look at the acrylic shelf. The holes allow water circulation. Side shot - the return nozzle is a 3D printed random flow generator. Plenty of gear crammed into the rear chamber! We're using an eKoral lite controller for this tank. The float valve is emergency protection against overflow in case the ATO pump gets stuck on. The overall room. We're looking for a nice artwork to hang on the wall opposite to the tank, and have some ideas for shelves to better display the plants on the wall next to the tank. We'll update as it progresses 🌱🌵 Our other love - Monstera Thai Constellation! Ange & Craig I think a 65in QLED TV is just the artwork that wall needs. 2 Quote Link to comment

teenyreef
So nice! Did you bring the corals from another tank? They're already so big! 1 Quote Link to comment
Craig.
Thanks everyone! 😍 Some of the corals are from the new Reefer 350 tank (which was an established system), however most are 'new' and have been growing really well so far. We had some hammers and frammers in the tank to begin with but they expanded massively and begun stinging everything else! They've since been moved over to the 350 and some more friendly soft corals have taken their place in the nano. The nano will will remain as a softy + LPS tank, while the 350 will be SPS + LPS. We recently setup an eKoral doser for for Red Sea alkalinity and calcium. Magnesium will be added manually every week or so as required. 1 Quote Link to comment
