Craig.
Hi Nano-Reef! Thanks for checking out our journal! This tank will be jointly cared for by my partner (Ange) and I. We were inspired by the floating reef tank of coral_fish_zoa of instragram, and decided to create our own rendition - It's perfect timing that the 365 day challenge coincided! 🙂 We'll add more info and plans shortly, but for now, we hope you enjoy the initial scape ❤️ Craig & Ange 19 1 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Oh wow, great job with the floating scape! I love that tank on Instagram, can’t wait to see what the two of you come up with for yours. And the tank itself sure is a beauty, as is your doorway!! 😍 1 Quote Link to comment

Craig.
Thanks for the love, everyone! 9 hours ago, applejk said: Looks awesome. Did you make that rock or buy it so where? It's 'Real Reef Rock'. About 4 kg (9 lb) in total. It's actually several rocks that were glued together using a combo of epoxy and cyanoacrylate! 🙂 7 hours ago, SliceGolfer said: The floating scape is really unique. Would love to see how you assembled this! I bent a 6 mm (1/4 in) piece of acrylic into an 'L-shape' and then siliconed it to the back wall of the tank! It's super strong and holds the rock with ease - once filled with water, the buoyancy further reduces the load on the acrylic. The inspo for the tank, coral_fish_zoa on Instagram, gets full credit for this method! I'll share some more pics in the next update 👍 3 Quote Link to comment

Craig.
We're so thankful for the interest and positivity around our little tank so far! We had to relocate the tank to the other side of the room after realising it was directly underneath the ceiling access hole! Lesson learned 😊 We're now into day 5 of the cycle and it's going smoothly so far. Using Dr Tim's One and Only to help the cycle process. The sand is Caribsea Fiji pink which was washed beforehand to minimise clouding. Full tank shot! Nestled amongst our houseplants. Closer look at the acrylic shelf. The holes allow water circulation. Side shot - the return nozzle is a 3D printed random flow generator. Plenty of gear crammed into the rear chamber! We're using an eKoral lite controller for this tank. The float valve is emergency protection against overflow in case the ATO pump gets stuck on. The overall room. We're looking for a nice artwork to hang on the wall opposite to the tank, and have some ideas for shelves to better display the plants on the wall next to the tank. We'll update as it progresses 🌱🌵 Our other love - Monstera Thai Constellation! Ange & Craig 17 Quote Link to comment

Tamberav
Looks awesome! I love these floating reefs! Always wanted to try one someday. The room is very nice...I tried to imagine if I and the room but my plants would be shredded by cats and dog hair clumps would be everywhere lol 1 Quote Link to comment
Tempestas
Such a nice a clean setup. And thanks for the pic on how you achieved the floating scape. I'm sure a lot of folks out there (myself included) were still a bit mystified by how you actually achieved it. 2 Quote Link to comment
SaltyGallon
Very excited to see how this one plays out. Lovely clean set up and the 'tank room' is gorgeous! I've got a Monstera deliciosa at home which has grown from a cutting of a bigger plant and in the past year it's gone from three leaves to nine, the thing's out of control!!! 2 Quote Link to comment
