Greetings All -

Getting into this AIO 365 day challenge with a Waterbox Aquarium Cube 20. I plan on running an InTank media basket in chamber one, IceCap K1 Nano skimmer in chamber two, BRS 100w titanium heater with controller, Duetto ATO, Ecotech Vortech MP10wes, Micmol G3 Aqua Pro Marine light, stock pump, MarinePure spheres, and Caribsea Liferock. Will add a doser later on depending on Alk/Ca consumption. More pics to come, fine tuning the setup this weekend.

It is a really nice tank. I’m impressed with the build quality and clarity of the glass. The only change I would make is the smoked glass divider. Items in the rear chambers show through the glass depending on conditions.

Conservative measurements are 3 1/8” x 5 1/8” x 14”. You might squeak another 1/16th or so if lucky.

Well I took a closer look. That 5 1/8” dimension is shorter, closer to 4 3/4”. There is a submerged divider I didn’t see when measuring.

Alrighty! Tank has cleared up, skimmer is no longer spraying all over itself and the light is dialed in. Time for some photos.

If you mean what stand did I use, it is this nightstand. I used Gorilla glue at every joint and some deck fasteners to firm it up for the weight.

It’s mostly mdf however it is painted so it is somewhat protected if a few drops of water happen to get on it. I did not put the drawer in and made the drawer face removable for extra storage in the cabinet.

This week's update: PAR MAPPING (WooHoo!)

For lighting on this tank, I am using the Micmol G3 Aqua Pro. It has 42 LEDs and measures 8" x 8". Premium Aquatics was selling these on major discount and for $125 I thought what the heck. So let me start off by saying "Holy Crap, this light is POWERFUL!"

PAR mapping was done using an Apogee MQ-510. The light is mounted to a Waterbox Cube 20 using the provided aluminum mounting arm as included in the Micmol G3 Aqua Pro kit. The distance between the light and the water surface is 10.5" and a total of 26" from light to the bottom of the tank.

The Micmol G3 Aqua Pro has automatic and manual built in timer control, with 6 programmable settings to emulate dawn, sunrise, midday, sunset, dusk, and night. In automatic mode, the timer will ramp up and ramp down, gradually raising or lowering light intensity.

My lighting schedule is as follows, set in automatic mode:

White:
Dawn - 7am - 0%
Sunrise - 9am - 0%
Midday - 10am - 30%
Sunset - 3pm - 30%
Dusk - 3:30pm - 0%
Night - 10pm - 0%

Blue:
Dawn - 7am - 1%
Sunrise - 8am - 1%
Midday - 10am - 75%
Sunset - 7pm - 75%
Dusk - 9pm - 1%
Night - 10pm - 0%

Special:
Dawn - 7am - 0%
Sunrise - 8am - 1%
Midday - 10am - 75%
Sunset - 3:30pm - 75%
Dusk - 4pm - 15%
Night - 10pm - 0%

PAR mappings are as follows:

Day Mode - Whites: 30% - Blues: 75% - Special: 70%

MicmolG3_W_B_S.thumb.jpg.7fee4de60d09d3e23596fd28f4ecb31a.jpg

Evening Mode - Whites: 0% - Blues: 75% - Special: 10%

MicmolG3_B_S.thumb.jpg.0613b4c6d9de98d427d51b9593c0fca4.jpg

And, for the ALL ON setting:

All On 100% Mode - Whites: 100% - Blues: 100% - Special: 100%

MicmolG3_100.thumb.jpg.4c9135ca91664454e769e8e5ca0a08c1.jpg

As you can see, this light is very powerful for the 8"x8" footprint. I am very impressed and confident this light will do well with SPS/LPS/Mixed reef tanks.
