And while I might succeed by the element of surprise (short plump girls dont come off excessively threatening) I’d rather not have to defend myself over a box of three nano fish. 1 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
I'm honestly kind of mad at this little tank right now, and I refuse to get a FTS until I see more nudibranch activity. There is a GIANT aiptasia in the middle of one of my zoa colonies that is akin to having a humongous ZIT IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR FOREHEAD.  Aiptasia = saltwater tank acne. 5 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
So went to the LFS today that is always a magical experience. He came through for me and got a bunch of clown gobies in- citrons and greens. The citrons really seemed too big for this tank so I got a little green war paint one.      Oh and here is a really awful FTS for July. So ashamed of how it looks right now. Have more berghias coming next week 😱😱 hope they tackle the Aiptasia acne 7 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
So the new clown goby is fair. He’s maybe a bit off and today he started showing ick spots. Treating him with kick ick now. I realize some people think that stuff is garbage but it’s seemed to help me in the past so I rather trust it and Ruby Reef Rally. May get some of that too just in case.   The aiptasia is starting to wander around the tank so I can’t tell if it’s just that bold it thinks it owns the tank now or if the nudis are chasing it around. Hope it’s the latter and I have good news in that there will be four more joining them come Thursday to help get the annoying aiptasias. Some are so big it might actually take four to take it down. Can’t wait for them to be gone. 3 Quote Link to comment

ECLS Reefer
So I am ecstatic to say, the nudis have tackled the aiptasia problem handily. I saw two of them today (they’ve gotten BIG) and there’s only one large aiptasia still gaudily present. Im sure there’s more in there but they got rid of two of the big ones so that the zoas and palys are coming back in nicely.  The little clown goby has developed some personality and lives in the barnacle’s biggest hole. He comes out and gives you dirty looks when you hover around the tank. He’s still got ick spots but seems otherwise unbothered by them. We’ve named him Grumpalufagus.   5 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
FTS   Top down FTS    This rhodactis is looking great these days   The iron man/ nirvana zoas ended up completely encrusted on this frag holder, so I opted to just leave it permanently. I got the Rastas and the Kedds reds glued to rock today so hopefully they’ll start spreading some. 4 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Couple of shots with the DSLR. Haven’t broken it out in a bit since I’ve been so busy.   7 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
DAMMIT 😡ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜Â  Mr Grumpalufagus died on me this afternoon. Guess he couldn’t beat the ick. Also I could never be sure that he ate anything and when I picked his little body up he was super skinny. Sometimes trying to buy smaller fish seems to backfire on me. 8 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
FTS of the challenge tank! The nudis did their job and there’s not a single freaking Aiptasia left to be seen!!!! Of course I can’t find the nudis either just evidence of their hard work. Hope they pick that tank clean and I can grab them before they die, but otherwise, thank you for your sacrifice Berghies   3 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
FTS for August- tank is filling in so much!   Havent added any corals in a long time, and there isn’t anywhere to put any more 😱. Except maybe the back wall, but I think I’m just going to stick with what’s in there. Usually the Rastas are open and look great in the bottom left but I did add some new sexies and a candy cane pistol today, since I’m keeping this tank fish fallow for a while. I’m afraid it also had brook from cross contamination from the 120g.     Added 5 new sexies for a total of 8. And maybe someday this tank will be fish friendly again for a clown goby.     4 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Haven’t bothered much with this tank all month, bummed about what happened in the 120g. Have noticed the pods have been taking over this little tank though, and getting hold of a good pod eater has been a little difficult. I’d rather have little clown gobies in here but haven’t been able to find the ones I want, so I bought a baby target Mandy to clean it out. I know I have a place to transplant him to when he outgrows it.  Have named him....  Target (tar-zhay), cause he fancy. 😉   7 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Nice little guy. I would like to add fish with a purpose to my 20 but they all need a 30 or larger. It is great that you have a tank for him to grow into. Quote Link to comment

The red Mandy in the Evo is doing great- he’s starting to fill out and look slightly fat. But I’ve noticed he’s not growing super fast so that gives me hope that I’ll have time with this target Mandy to enjoy it in the challenge tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Target is a fat little sausage of a fish. I watched him inhale a mysis tonight that was as big as his head- he carried it around for like 10 minutes trying to get it down. No wonder he’s a chonk.    The sexies are still doing well- last count I still had 8 in there plus one candy cane pistol. He rearranges the sand bed daily. They all seem happy though the zoas aren’t so much anymore. I think the mushrooms are bothering them during the day. Still pondering ways to fix that issue 🤔  1 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
September FTS and some updated pictures of Target (Tar-zhay) and the sexy shrimp herd.    Just realized IG cut off part of little Targets face. Somebody that handsome shouldn’t get shortchanged. 5 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Target and little Sunny are doing great in the challenge tank! Both great eaters!   5 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
I’m loving this little dude, Sunny the yellow clown goby. He’s teeny weeny and eats like a big fat pig. Starting to show a lot more personality these days. He and Target get along really well and the herd of sexy shrimp all flutter around like a busy bunch of tail waggers.   2 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Little Sunny has personality! And he’s made himself a home among the zoas. Cute little spunky dude.   It seems moving the rock a bit also helped the zoa find more light. Maybe they’ll be able to come back like they were once. 4 Quote Link to comment
