Well I got the top welded and had my saw guy sit on the stand and it’s solid as a rock

(he’s a big boy 400lbs) I calculated the actual weight that will go on top is about 250-300Lbs 5F1EC44B-9894-44E1-A8DA-BCD0EC813240.thumb.jpeg.ec9aebd06c24ed5fd8d1eeccfc98cd66.jpeg

i got my pieces cut to skin it with mirror acrylic

Oh my - DIY envious. This is an exciting build! Skills!

It’s it’s just a start!

I’m still asking the ole lady if I can spend 60$ for rock and sand

I will have to select the tank pieces since someone bought the 16g I was going to build(they wanted a frag tank for a fragswap next month)

Well boys that’s the contest; y’all can pack up and go home..

very impressive work. Looking forward to this one.

The contest hasn’t really started only the second week in! And I just started on building the tank. Lol🤣

That stand is going to be awesome. I can’t wait to see what you do for the tank.

🙏 thank you! I’m still on the fence about the stand scheme if I should continue with the mirror or leave it alone. Floating tank anyone?

I finally moved the stand from the shop and now it’s in my living room. I want to thank @inland_reef again for helping me move the beast into the house

so onto the tank bit the footprint of it is 22”x22”x10.5”OD (21x21x10 ID) and I’m doing a rimless lagoon style so the cast acrylic is .500 give or take a couple thousands. So completely full water about to spill is Roughly 19.09 gallon

im still drawing up the AIO insert depending on which style I should go with..

I was thinking of doing a dual drain and return.🤔

I’m not worried about you.

I still haven’t decided if I’m in or not...

Hell ya!

This is awesome!

Will you need euro bracing on the tank at all?

I think the dual drain and return idea is great. What kind/size of return pump are you thinking?

I like the stand transparent as it is now. Very unique

Thanks 🙏 I have been waiting to build something out of the lexan. This contest gave me a reason. And my son I had to build something that will not tip over onto him.

I may need you to make me a cold water tank upgrade at some point 😛

I could be a lot better but it will have to suffice.

You should totally join! You will enjoy it as I am.

no the tank will not need eurobracing. The height is the deciding factor on that. My aquarium thickness calculator said I should be able to use 3/8 acrylic for a rimless tank given my dimensions but I decided to use 1/2 as a precaution. As for a return pump I was thinking a dc 1k gph might be enough

im still collaborating with my flow sponsor

Alright for being sick these past few days with the stomach flu I have yet to actually get the AIO insert cut yet😆

so most of Saturday morning and a trip to Lowe’s I have moved the stand into its final resting place but first my son has to inspect his build 4ECA0BF2-BB2D-4481-85F4-EC961D62A6B4.thumb.jpeg.7b8486d16f73265b5facd0e996beaf14.jpegF28DC3F0-B035-48DF-9AEF-5E8A0EC1C8B7.thumb.jpeg.64e35faa9c31ae2725fe05eb60329ef0.jpeg

ok now onto moving everything off the old wire stand

i will be making a custom controller board for the two tanks electronics cause it’s looking like a rats nest

here is a quick before picture 75F97E5D-BE14-420B-A96F-3F45AB9BE3E9.thumb.jpeg.a350b698d4f973e85def10c68cbf946b.jpeg

and after

I was able to fit everything into the shelf area and have extra room for a bit more.

my son having to re-inspect the tank and stand in its final placement..

next week I will be making the AIO partition and make this build Rule compliant.

I think you should really consider adding an extra salty to your handle considering how intensive this build is! This guy is extra EXTRA salty.

Kudos man. I wish I had your skills!

Looks good, I like the split overflows on the outside  and the dual returns in the middle

Thanks! 🙏  I’m making one side an algae reactor or I might build a skimmer.  I haven’t decided yet. I’m still drawing up the media rack, thinking of doing a three tiered one. Obviously everything is still in the air for that one 😂

So as I’m waiting for the return nozzles to arrive, I tapped some squares for the plumbing. Think it might look cool while peeking in the back chambers 7919BA84-8E4A-43D6-B001-C828DEF72223.thumb.jpeg.7846c943e209138e85b800e7d08460ae.jpeg
