A.m.P
Who wouldn't want a crazy-beautiful lagoonal mixed-reef, macro-tank with a harem of clownfish? 1 Quote Link to comment

I might have to split up the harem, Pepe is not a fan of sharing the hosting anemones. Every time I look at the tank it’s literally chasing the other three to the non-hosting anemone sweeper tentacle area. But it’s been a week since it’s been like this so I may have to build a little 10g. 😢 1 Quote Link to comment
This guy is extra salty
Caught this gem the other day. I was actually very surprised that pistol shrimp chose to have a tunnel on one of the viewable panels of the tank. 3 Quote Link to comment

This guy is extra salty
So as this past week went by I have noticed one of the acros start to STN around the shaded part of the base. (See photos below) so I decided to do a water change, part of me is worried about it but I kind of realized I had a mild salinity issue two weeks ago.(forgot to change filter floss, and added way too much and clogged my “skimmer” chamber.) so I’m wondering if it is the culprit and I’m just seeing it settle down after a full panic mode burn the world down scenario (aka 2020) FTS (10/20/2020) 5 1 Quote Link to comment

But I’m lighter news my bubble algae is pretty much diminished, they’re like empty sacs now. Thought a fire would be cool in the background 4 Quote Link to comment
The Rainy Day Aquarium
That background isn't the only thing that's on fire..........😉🔥 haha alright alright bad joke. But really the tank is looking good. I always enjoy seeing how much the mangroves grow inbetween updates too 😁 2 Quote Link to comment
This guy is extra salty
I have been wondering about the pistol shrimp for some time. It has managed to make a cave/tunnel system along the whole left side of the tank. Which is awesome, cause my last pistol shrimps were seldom seen in the back of the tanks. Also side note it isn’t very keen to bristle worms, literally goes psycho on sight 5 Quote Link to comment

And I have been neglecting them for the past week, been off schedule on the twice a week misting of leaves. I will have to compile list of my week to week maintenance on this ULM acroholic display fuge 2 Quote Link to comment

This guy is extra salty
Ok so I have a November update! so the Acro-fuge is doing well nothing has changed well except for a few additions (coral) FTS 11/4/2020 Top Down @debbeach13 ok I just finished temperature acclimating the shrooms, I opted not to put them into a cage aka shroom box (maybe I should?) the ones that were shipped in full water looked great. No sign of stress just a little slimy, but the ones that were in the (soaking wet) paper towel looked like a murder scene. It seems they expelled their zooxanthellae, well most of it. I’m still going to toss them into the tank (I hear the background screaming “no don’t do that”) because why not? Here they are in the tank! (Looking great! I’ll update tomorrow or after the weekend) 2 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Glad the ones in water seem OK and should make it. I would toss the others. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

I would toss the others. So an update after the weekend all the shrooms seems to have survived. Though the ones in the paper towel are still a bit pissed (who wouldn’t after throwing up their guts while riding through the mail) but they are moving on to the rock formation behind them. Their location as is, receives pellet food (from feeding the clowns) regularly twice a day. Which could be a factor in them being alive, who knows 🤷♂️ (You can see them if you squint, bottom center) so I had to do a water change today, that one acro that is “shading” itself well it isn’t. I have noticed the chromis (Jeff) has been “sleeping” aka beat the utter living shit out of the acro with its tail.🤦♂️ as for losses, November has been dealing out some pain. So unfortunately I lost one of the clowns (York) he was bullied into the pistol shrimp lair. (He made a tunnel to the front panel near the anemone heaven) I also lost my XL setosa frag.(stung to death via rainbow ricordia) I can’t really think of anything else that was lost over the past month. I thought about picking up a few frags at the local frag swap but decided not to. Partially because I didn’t want to risk it. I can’t afford to lose one of my three jobs, let alone get people close to me sick. In other new I’m still compiling my dosing regimen, I need to set reminders 😂 I keep forgetting to dose my eccentric Brightwell stash, idk maybe this week? Andy7
I have to say this has been one of the most interesting Journals I've read through and wish I had the skills you do in regards to acrylic, I can think of more then a few things I'd like made of acrylic. 1 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Sounds like the mushrooms should make it. I still have a dozen+ of the red/orange spotted ones I would love to give away. They are sitting in a jar in a ten gallon tank I do not want them attaching to the rock in there, Sorry about your losses. I lost my center piece elegance and an RFA so sad about it. 2 Quote Link to comment

Wow I was surprised how much they had a nice fluorescent pop, very beautiful. I’m going to return the favor I have two on a frag plug and might have some babies and a few zoas. Lol 😂 but as of late it has been 95% PPE barriers. 1 Quote Link to comment

I hear ya man, I'm the same way with a piece of leather. I work in healthcare so I hear the PPE thing for sure. If you ever have some time to make some small stuff let me know! I would just like to get a small frag rack and a small ATO reservoir. I just started my first saltwater tank period, it's currently in a Fluval Flex I had on hand but this week it's being transitioned to a WaterBox Cube 10. 1 Quote Link to comment

This guy is extra salty
No embedded link so bummed FTS 12/07/2020 so quick update on the tank, the corals have been blowing up. Well a lot of them are almost double in size. Which is pretty neat since, I’m heavily relying on Kalk+2 as a supplement to the elements. I roughly use 9grams in 15 gallons.(biweekly) I have to say I haven’t been much of a kalkwasser user. But watching the growth over the past months is phenomenal. Especially the two purple stag colonies in the front right and back left(wall) I picked up this nub back in October it seems it’s growing towards the AI primeHD. I would’ve thought it would’ve blown up from the T5’s 😂 4 1 Quote Link to comment
