Count me inĀ

Ā

Iā€™m rebuilding the 5g mangrove tank!

even though the tank has been up and running since December and the only stuff in there is mangroves and a pistol shrimp butĀ the sides are a bit bowed about .125 and in not comfortable with that number.

Ā

So itā€™s time for an ā€œupgradeā€ Iā€™ll start a new thread unless I can keep my old contest thread. Since everything is going to be reused.Ā
Ā

the lady laid the rules of not spending money again

Ā

what is the cut off for starting the tank?

@Christopher MarksĀ is there a minimum amount of chambers required on the filtration side of the wall ifĀ going DIY? Or can it just be one wide open space on the back side?Ā

Ā

Iā€™m trying to decideĀ if it would be economically responsible for me to join in šŸ¤”šŸ’ø

It can have as many partitions as long itā€™s on the filtration side. I wouldntĀ over complicate it. Keep it simple, many AIO have maybe two or three partitions. If I remember correctly the biocube has three @banasophiaĀ please correct me if Iā€™m wrong

and after my post a few weeks ago about the next comp...guess I got the wheels turning.

SO question.

I will be moving some time in the next cpl months ( 2-4) was hoping it would happen after. BUT if I can join in ,not that I need another tank to move but does moving a tank disqualify one?

Ā

this is so tempting...

During the last two contests, I would empty my tank every so often for a full water change.Ā  A tank move really isn't that much different.Ā  I can't see how that would disqualify you.

or coldwater

Cold water tanks should be allowed as was stated in the first post in the themed tank. Ā Guessing a chiller should also be allowed

Aqua Splendor

I'm storming some idea, is it possible to elevate the scape outside the aquarium? it could the have potential to contain more volume water...

edit: and in counter part i would reduce the water level in the aquarium

To anyone wanting to chime inĀ
Ā

would anyone oppose dual return pumps if a wave maker isnā€™t used?

I believe the restriction of one pump is limited to the display side.Ā  I don't believe there's a limit on return pumps in the back.

There is also the possibility of dual returns (from a single pump) via a T-fitting.

Would I be able to useĀ AutoAqua AWC - All-in-One Automatic Water Changer?

I was wondering the same. I think that( AWC)Ā  would be allowed but what the heck do I know...Ā

External dosing and top-off lines will be permitted. Liquid should be flowing into the tank and not out šŸ˜‰Ā

This is pretty clear on the AWC question. Liquid flowing in, not out.

I was thinking closed loops

but worse case,Ā one pump and crank it to 11 /10šŸ˜‚Ā
