DOJOLOACH
I have a two little fishies phosban 150 reactor, about 3.5" diameter and 14" tall working on my 40 breeder. What's everyone using for a reactor pump? I purchased the reactor used with a cobalt mj-404 and I feel it is not powerful enough for chaeto... Puts out about 100gph on the box Quote Link to comment
Naekuh
I use a Rio with 1 chamber sponge so i don't get detritus shooting into my reactor. mcarroll
Operating Instructions for the PhosBan Reactor 150 ™ Quote Technical Data Capacity Use with up to a maximum of 200 grams (385 ml) of PhosBan, or a media height of 5 inches (13 cm). Aquarium size One reactor for up to 150 gallons (568 Liters). Multiple reactors may be used for larger aquariums. Recommended flow rate ca. 20 - 30 gal/hr (75 - 115 l/hr). Too much flow can grind PhosBan. Also this... Quote 1. Preparing the Reactor [...]The pump used can be a powerhead, such as a Maxijet 500, or the supply of water can be tapped off of a circulating pump already in use on the aquarium (see diagrams 1-4 on instructions page two). The pump should have 100-200 gph (380-760 l/hr) capacity, although the flow must be reduced using the supplied ball valve. They say 100-200 gph is good (so you could put a 200gph pump on there) ...but they say that thinking you're going to ball valve it back to 20-30 gph and use it with PhosBan. If you measure the gph of the reactor with the pump you have, how much is it actually pumping? Quote Link to comment
