Bldgengineer Posted January 22, 2020 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Set up my 40b this weekend and picked up 5 lbs of live rock to go with my 40 lbs of dry. I've never cycled with live rock and sand before. It's always been a completely dry start. I have bio spira and ammonia. Should I still dose ammonia and dump in the bio spira with the live rock in there? 1 Quote Link to comment
Clown79 Posted January 22, 2020 Share Posted January 22, 2020 The liverock will eventually seed the dry rock. Depending on the condition of the liverock will depend on the tanks cycling I didn't dose ammonia with my dry rock/liverock tank, I let it process on it's own. 2 Quote Link to comment
