Jungle321
Hello! This is my first post on this forum, if I placed this post in a wrong section I’m sorry. Recently I bought a tank 18”-18”-18” ,and I’m planning to make it into an all-in-one tank by adding panel out of plexiglas, so it will eventually have 18”-14”-18” . I was wondering if Kessil a80 tuna blue is any good for such tank if I wanted to keep some soft and LPS corals. The main issue is that I can only spend 150$ (That’s why I thought about getting Kessil) on lighting because as a teenager I can not afford anything more expensive. If this lamp is not enough for the corals that I would like to keep in the tank that I have, what would you suggest me instead? I very appreciate reading this and thank you for the reply! mcarroll
You'll need at least an A160 if you'll be going with Kessil. The A80 is only going to light it properly down to about 6-10" tops. Consider buying used if the A160 is "too rich" for your budget brand new. Lots of folks start out that way. (Like me! 😁) 👍 IMO also consider other brands such as Current USA's strips. One Orbit Marine IC or the "IC Pro" pack of two strips ought to do it. These are nice because they can sit right on the rim of the tank and become almost invisible. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jungle321
Thank you for the reply. I will look for a used light then. Unfortunately I will have to return the Kessil a80 that I already bought. Does anyone know if this light would be good enough for my aquarium ? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WCF2VQH/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_tai_B9IfEbCJ6C6W6 1 Quote Link to comment

mcarroll
(From a quick scan a used Kessil 160 should be around $100.) Quote Link to comment

I like the other options (including used) better so far. 👍 Quote Link to comment
