alternatives to seaweed for a snail?

Hey guys,

 

I have a Turbo snail that years ago was part of my CUC, but after several moves and tanks set up/tear downs he is a true pet at this point. He's about the size of a baby's fist. I love him. 🥰

 

This keeps getting long with my explanations, which you don't care about, so here's the very short version: For reasons I have killed my live rock and scrubbed it clean. My big guy has nothing to graze on in the new set up. I've tried sushi-grade seaweed but he won't eat any of it (he turns away when I try to put it by him even). Has anyone had luck with boiled lettuce or cabbage, etc, feeding herbivores and specifically feeding a snail (just until new set up re-establishes a little coat of algae)? Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

My snails love the Hikari algae wafers. I buy the mini ones and drop a few in a couple times a week. The snails usually find them within 30 mins.
