Sump is getting dirty too fast. I dont think the floss is catching enoiugh. been so busy at work lately i havent had a chance to do a water change in almost 3 weeks. Sharbuckle Posted December 25, 2020 Author Share Posted December 25, 2020 My additives arrived today. I also ordered mesh filter socks.... well I didn’t order mesh socks. I ordered a felt sock, that’s right... one.... haha guess i gotta get on amazon i also purchased some more acros today. Three to be exact. Glued them in place and moved a couple pieces around. a small millepora was getting stung and taken over by my bonsai acro. So i snapped it off and moved it to the back of the tank, lots of space back there to grow. oh i also got a JF grafted sun monti which i glued to the overflow, gotta use all the space i can! started with iron dosing today. Going to alternate days between iron and iodide, as well as daily aminos. anything else?? Dont think so. Water change tomorrow that’s for sure. Sharbuckle Posted December 29, 2020 Author Share Posted December 29, 2020 Switched from floss back to socks today. I feel like they just catch more detritus. Much louder however. Oh! I also finally turned my vectra up a bit. Been running at 20% flow this whole time. Cranked it up to 40%. I sent in my xr15 to be repaired a few weeks ago. Still waiting on a diagnoses. If it comes back repaired ill add it over the display and that should be perfect. Having said that I have nowhere to put them in the display. I need a bit more rock. Hoping the LFS - 1. is open tomorrow and 2. Has some life rock arches in stock. Im so close to letting thijgs just fill in... honestly i was probably there 10 frags ago. Noticing now ill most likely have to move some slower growing acros to my frag/fuge. They’ll be overtaken in a matter of months. Today I noticed my Red Dragon acro is being encroached upon by a green millepora and another green acro. The red dragon is one of my favourite pieces. That means the other two need to be trimmed back. i ordered some coral cutters that will be here in a couple days. Ill frag them then instead of using my usual snap off with my fingers method..... I heard back about my xr15 and mp40 i sent off for repairs. Both had blown fuses and power supplies.... they said most likely due to a surge or brown out. I should have them back in the coming weeks and that makes me happy! The tank needs a bit more light so ill hang it above the display. 3 Quote Link to comment
