Another woohoo moment! The new copperband started eating frozen mysis this morning. The baby mimic is getting beat up by my stupid lemon chromis. The bully will have to be caught!

Ugh.... one year old and my sump is already coming apart at the seams.... replacing my sump is not at all what I wanted to do this year.

I injected the seam with some acrylic weld on. Seems to have bonded it but I’m still weary. I’m going to weld a strip from top to bottom to hold it together further. A local acrylic expert said it should do the trick. Still quite upset this fiji sump is a year old and already coming apart....

In other news here are some blues only, orange filter, top down shots to enjoy.

Blown away with the growth from this Vivid Confetti Acro. Puzzles me as to why they cost so much if they’re so prolific.

In a moment of panic while thinking about replacing the sump.... I did something stupid. I bought a 180g Tank, stand, and sump. My thought process was if I have to rip out the sump and redo the plumbing, I may as well set up a big tank.

after sitting on it for a few days and learning about patching the sump, I realized I don’t want to set up a huge tank just yet. Still picking up the 180 tomorrow for the future. However, this tank will go on for a while yet! My plan was a minimum of two years, let’s see if I can keep that plan together.

Damn.....

Came home from work to my pink Millie colony half gone.... chopped it up into frags to try and save what’s left.

Not sure yet.... I do have a theory though. Copperband!

last week my orange Digitata was completely stripped on the bottom just like this millepora. Which rules out acro eating flat worms. I don’t have too much experience with this sort of thing but that’s my first thought.

What else can strip a coral to the skeleton in an 8 hour time frame....

But they aren’t known to eat sps at all.... so I’m at a loss. Must investigate further.
