twenty12
Decided to add a rock anemone finally. Placed it and seemed to attach. Next morning it’s gone. Researching I know it can move. Others seem to say can go hide in sand. My question is do I continue to search and disturb sand/rock to find or hope it resurfaces. Just disappointed it’s lost at day two. I dont think inhabitants did anything. Yellow watchman goby. Crabs, snails, cleaner shrimp all that’s in tank. Its a 29g biocides with shallow sand bed. So if it moved in tank I figured I’d find it but nope. Wondering thoughts kn trying to find vs hoping it comes back and what people have experienced. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Unfortunately with nems this can happen. It will go where it wants to go and even if you locate it and move it successfully to where you want it, it will just move again to where its happy. Quote Link to comment
twenty12
I knew it would move and was ok with that. More of the disappeared and can’t find. Small tank so should be able to locate. So thats were I wondered how long it can survive under sand or in whatever crevice it’s in before chalk it up as just gone or try to find it Quote Link to comment
Tired
If it's in somewhere it won't do well, like under the sand, it'll come out. They're very mobile. Picture it as being kind of like a giant zoanthid on top of a snail foot. Quote Link to comment
NoOneLikesADryTang
They can live a pretty long time “hidden”. I wouldn’t worry too much about it - it’ll probably come out of hiding soon. Quote Link to comment
