Noonan
I setup my tank last night in my bedroom. I think I was up every half hour because of the damn overflow noise. Is it possible to have a stand pipe on a HOB overflow to reduce the gargle noise? I dont know if I can take it much longer. DIY Plans Anyone?? Link to comment
Primeval
if your water level is high enough, you could reduce that noise. but you have to watch out not to give the jumpers a good height. and it depends on what HOB you have, some are just cheap and noisey Link to comment

Noonan
Is there a reason why a hole is drilled in the end cap? Link to comment
onthefly
The hole "meters" the air going in......too much air causes gurgling. I drilled 3 tiny holes in mine. I did this exact mod and it runs totally silent. The only difference I did was to cut 2 1/2" slots 180 degrees from each other, and not the holes. Link to comment
