Bailyfox
I don't think I've asked this question yet so as the title says does anyone have suggestions for safe green macro algaes that I could put in my 7 gallon cube to display? The light I have is the ABI 12w cold white LED bulb (15,000k i think) The green macros i've looked into are Caulerpa prolifera, Caulerpa taxifolia, and Caulerpa racemosa all of which I've read can go sexual and grow to plague like proportions. I'm thinking I will get red grape algae and blue hypnea or octodes for sure, but I'd like to get a green macro as well. I'm looking to try and pack different colors and textures into the tank to keep it looking interesting since I likely will not be upgrading until we move into a bigger place. I may very well get a better light in the future when the budget allows but not for awhile. Quote Link to comment
Seadragon
I'm going with Gracilaria Hayi, Blue Hypnea, and Chaetomorpha myself. That will give me the Red, Blue, Green cool color combination and although I didn't like how Chaeto can get into every nook and cranny at first, I found out over time that it's so hardy and does its job so well that it's worth the little maintenance upkeep I have to do to remove rogue strands. It also has this deep emerald green color in my tank and is tightly packed behind a big rock. As a bonus, I don't have to worry about it going sexual and getting out of hand. Quote Link to comment

I am thinking of putting chaeto in my HOB filter, I'm not too big on the look of it personally for the display. 1 Quote Link to comment
