Samppson
Hi, So I recently bought a used tank, and I noticed when I got it home and was cleaning it, it has a wierd film/cloudyness all the way to about an inch from the top (Water line?). Also, on the side you can see a circular spot of clearness, which I assume is where the powerhead was. The pictures with flash make it stand out much worse, its not super noticeable unless you have a light on it, and its basically not visible with water in it. Its a ADA 60P 17G. Any idea on what could have caused this, and tips for removal? I soaked it in vinegar/water for a few hours and scrubbed it, didnt seem to help. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
I'm Batman
Looks like hard water marks? Quote Link to comment

Thats what I thought, although its wierd, because when I add water to the tank and fill it up, you cant tell the difference between the stained part, and the top part which isnt stained. sadie
did you try wiping it down with vinegar to see if it will come off? Quote Link to comment
Tired
If you can't tell the difference when the tank is full, why does it matter? Quote Link to comment
Clown79
It's from calcium I believe. My tank has it, its only noticeable when the water level drops and the exposed glass dries. Nothing removes it, I tried. Quote Link to comment
