NaturallyKait
I’m having a hard time deciding on an upgrade tank. Main contenders are the IM 25g lagoon or a Red Sea Reefer Nano. I like the larger display of the IM, but the benefit of having a sump is also appealing. I had been leaning toward a Reefer 170 for the bigger display but I found a deal on a nano and it’s a significant savings. My current tank is a 13.5g Evo, so either one would be a decent upgrade. Clown79
It's hard to compare the 2. 1 is an aio the other has a sump. I would decide what's the most important factor(s) and go from there. 1 Quote Link to comment

That’s why I’m wondering what other people would find more important in their opinion. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
I prefer more display and utilize the back chambers for fuge, heater, media baskets. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
I own both and i like the lagoon more. Better dimensions and less bullshit.... Red sea gate valve is kind of garbage too. Not that I hate it but it's far from perfect. I don't find the sump to really matter on nanos except for hiding equipment which the AIO does fairly well. 2 Quote Link to comment

Yeah hiding equipment is a big reason I like a sump. The cords coming out of the chambers in my evo are annoying. Maybe they’d be less noticeable with the chambers on the back vs peninsula style. Completely different systems, but I would go for the IM myself. I love the RSR130D I have BUT the back chambers seem to be an afterthought, not sure if their sumps are better? I know some of the valves are not particularly liked either. Also the glass is very, very, very easy to scratch 1 Quote Link to comment
NaturallyKait
Yeah I’m going to go with the 25 lagoon. Maybe I’ll luck out and there will be sales for Black Friday 🤞🏻 4 Quote Link to comment
billygoat
One more vote for the Lagoon from me. 😅 That would be my choice of upgrade hands-down. So much space and such great dimensions in there! 2 Quote Link to comment

I’ve found the evo a little frustrating to fit things into. A little more front to back space will be very welcome now that we’ve started adding corals. Quote Link to comment

I think it's quite a bit pricier option than IM tho.... Quote Link to comment

Clown79
My favourite is reefsupplies. Very fast shipping for in stock items, great customer service. My tank ended up being back ordered but it was out of stock everywhere. The next place I order from is Aquarium depot. 1 Quote Link to comment
