Lots of mixed sizes, strong saltwater smell but not smell of death. Impressed I ended up paying about £60 including shipping so still under half price, 60 day shipping. Anyway I clearly have to hide this from SWMBO so I stuck it in the basement, can clean and play with this later over the Christmas break.

While I was down there I added The Asta 20 Led to my spares collection, nearly enough to get it running.

Anyway, deep clean for this one as I need to get some citric acid and sort out the algae growth on the powerheadIMG_20191221_130744.thumb.jpg.cd845b8eb283080a919a19735dd9301b.jpg

Who knew a box of rocks could entertain someone for so long?

Sorted in large pieces, nano pieces and pico pieces.

Thinking half the large and half the nano boxes will work as my 15g Reef. The rest I want to add to my 34G next year.

Spec 3 was messing around. Although all I neally need is a decent pump and some form of rfg nozzle

If I took half the time I've spent playing with rocks over the past year and transformed it into worked hours, I'd have enough spare cash to have a way nicer aquarium, that's for sure... 🙄😂

You don't need a nicer aquarium, yours is gorgeous. Or you talking about the tank itself?

On the plus side I worked out I should have about 5-7Kg left over after the 15G Upgrade and the restart on the 34G.

I'll hold onto it for the time being, too damn difficult to find nice stuff at the moment

Thanks for the vote of confidence! 😊 I was talkin' about the actual tank though. If I had the funds I would likely upgrade to a 40g I think. 🤔

I feel like good quality rock is not going to get any easier to find in coming years, especially as more and more exporters in the Pacific region start to shut down. It's definitely better to have more than you need than it is to not have enough!

Malaysia as well?

I really like the sounds of the South East Asian demons, ghouls and ghosts.

I have Hantu, Pele (Pelesit) and Pen (Penanggalan) at the moment

Indonesia, a neighboring country of malaysia. We have genderuwo and kuntilanak 😄

Yeah, it always makes me sweat to get the rock work like that

Hmmmm Kunti, good name good name. Fits in well with how much I swear at my fish when they misbehave.

Anyhow, SPS order of German Blue Polyp Digitata, Ultra Green Plate Nd a random Acropora arrived today from Germany. Paid a bit more on shipping but the "frags" are much better sizes.

Lights haven't come on just yet.

The Montipora plate is so green I don't even need the light on to see its base colour 😱

So in anticipation of a potential move I will start breaking down this tank and transferring the livestock back into the 34G Office Tank.

Might stick teh Zoa's in the Pico

Is the potential move a good one?

Not that bad. Everything is divided up fairly evenly.

We'll sell the house and split the monies and move on

The problem will be who gets which pet

Hope you have a smoother go of things in 2020, sounds like its been a crazy couple of months. Glad things are still civil and I hope the move goes smoothly.

Thanks. Just got to find somewhere to go first.

Spare room is not fun!

I don't even know what to say.

Get home at 19:00 ish after work and my (currently) mother in law tells me that the power has been off since about 9am. Knox (Bunny) who has issues with his teeth has chewed through the extension cord. Fan-f*cking tastic, think about letting me know before I walk in the door you feotid c*nt? No she sat there ALL DAY and let me know the tanks feel really cold...

Couple of things 100% gone. That beautiful Green Plating Monti, is now an interesting looking dry rock, but it is Cycled. The turbipora which is always open even when lights off is gone, can see no polyps in any tubes. The Kenya tree has disappeared completely, only the plug remains. Xenia looks great and is pulsing away like crazy.

Zoas look really pissed off. Except the Utter Chaos, I don't think I seen them close yet. Clam is open more than I have seen it ever, mushrooms look okay. SPS don't look too bad, lights on for 30 mins and polyp extension on both Montis and the random Psamacora isn't as much extension as normal but there is some.

Hantu and Hermit look unaffected, the hermit has climbed the heater and Hantu is currently in her barnacle as per usual.

This used to be my favourite view... Note missing Kenya Tree and formerly beautiful green Monti plateIMG_20200116_200035.thumb.jpg.8bd304ceb7b4fa92dd7c12a57232c382.jpg
