Txplicit
29 biocube: Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 7 Phos 0.1 Calcium 520 Salinity 1.025 Temp 80f Noticed my watchman goby has white blotches on both sides behind his dorsal fin. Researched that it looks like fungal infection. He doesn't seem to be much different other than his dorsal fins aren't up all the time. Any ideas and treathment? Quote Link to comment

It could be as simple as a bucket with a heater and filter (a biofilter is really the main obstacle). Maybe try something like ParaGuard. 1 Quote Link to comment
Txplicit
Thanks seabass. Got a 5 gal aio coming in today to set up a hospital/qt. Just wondering how I should acclimate the sick fish? Quote Link to comment
seabass
I usually just make sure that the temperature and salinity match. 1 Quote Link to comment
Txplicit
I'm thinking doing a siphon right from DT since I changed the water 2 days ago. Refill DT with new water like a water change. Call it a day. Lol How do you feel about the melafix and pumafix by api? Quote Link to comment
seabass
TBH, I haven't used either one before. Pimafix says is for fungal infections @Humblefish, do you have any recommendations? 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Humblefish
Melafix and Pimafix are more effectively used with freshwater fish than marine. I would QT, and treat with a proper antibiotic such as Kanaplex which also has antifungal properties. 4 1 Quote Link to comment
