Hello,

I initially started a pico Fluval Spec iii early this year as my first saltwater tank. Enjoyed it for a while but decided I need more tank space.

I finally found a used evo on fbmarketplace and started setting it up. It came with the stock lid, pump, and a currentusa marine pro led.

Since I had to use the same stand, I had to temporarily move the spec contents including livestock to a couple of buckets before putting them all to the evo.

I am still battling with some bubble and hair algae on the rocks. i put in an emerald crab few weeks ago but it started messing up my zoas and acans so off it went back to lfs. i’m hoping using the Vibrant reef and regular weekly water changes would keep the algae at bay. we’ll see.

also been thinking of getting a protein skimmer. but im still looking for something that i could hang at the back of the filter chambers instead of inside the chamber or glass side of the tank.

I used Vibrant for 4 weeks to remove bubble algae. I used 2x the recommended dose, splitting the dose to twice a week. I manually removed as much bubble algae as I could, cleaning my intake floss after a cleaning exercise. I did not do a water change until I stopped dosing Vibrant. I also maintained detectable N03 and P04 levels while using Vibrant. It has been 2 weeks since I stopped dosing Vibrant and have not seen any bubble algae return.
