Close, someone I know and have been helping out for a while has decided to shut his tank down, He has been having a lot of difficulties with MS lately and just cant manage it anymore. I'll be helping him set up a Cichlid tank shortly as its less maintenance overall. Ended up paying him £50 and sure I'll throw him a heater, powerhead etc whatever he needs.  Definitely, the only reason I joined another forum (UR) is that it is UK based and people put up tank breakdown sales all the time! 4 2 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan Posted February 21, 2020 Author Share Posted February 21, 2020 Ok so they have all been in the tank for a couple of hours now and have stopped releasing the slime (I used a baster to remove as much of that as possible).  I probably should have asked what each of these actually was, but this game of ID the Coral is kinda fun.  Top Down Shot to show the size of these Montipora Caps, got a Red, Light Green, Purple/Grape and Green Edged Purple?  Green Edged Purple - need to sort my Camera settings again Light Green Plate - nice Polyp Extension Yes I broke the birdsnest, these have been collected and are currently on frag plugs 😄  Encrusting Montipora  Is this an Acropora? #  Pocilopora  One of the three Birdsnest's, one of the least damaged ones 😇  So it seems I have access to SPS frags for the AIO Contest Mwahahaha 7 Quote Link to comment

That birdsnest your best bet is to Clip the good parts and glue them to rocks I found it that once they start dying like that they won’t stop clipping the good parts helps the coral recover 1 Quote Link to comment

I've gotten them in from Fiji and it looked like a bag of eyes where the polyps bailed out and had it come back. I've gotten them from Indo and look fantastic only to have them shit the bed in a week or 2. One thing I will say is now you'll have to either step up your water change schedule or start dosing. 2 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Gotta say though ratman, for the price you paid for the coral even if u lose some still worth it, learning curve and all - keeps the hobby interesting imo.
