I’m new to the reefing community and I just wanted to share with you guys my shallow nano reef. It’s been up and running for about 5 months now. Please, let me know what you guys think. Thanks for looking! Build Rundown Tank: UNS 60s 10 gal (similar to Ada60f) Lighting: AI Prime HD Filtration: Eheim ECCO Pro 200 running floss/, rubble and chemipure blue. Lily pipes Flow: VorTech MP-10 using the lagoon mode Heater: Cobalt Neo-Therm 50w Misc: AutoAqua Smart ATO Micro, Fritz RPM salt Livestock Fish: 1 Blackstorm Clownfish(male) & 1 Wyoming White Clownfish(female) Inverts: Pair of Harlequin Shrimp, 1 Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp, 4 Scarlet hermits, assorted snails Corals SPS: Green Birdsnest LPS: Neon Green Torch 2 heads Green/Purple Torch 5 heads Purple Torch 2 heads Purple Wall Hammer Green Tip Branching Hammer 2 heads Steel Blue AquaSD Hammer 2 heads Green with Purple tips long tentacle Frogspawn 2 heads Purple Goni Softies: Hairy Mushroom Ultra Orange Yuma BamBam zoa’s LA Lakers zoa’s Dragon Eye zoa’s 7 Quote Link to comment

They’re really fun to watch especially together. They do eat like pigs though. I get a chocolate chip star every 2 weeks but they usually Finish a mid sized one in a week. Definitely a high maintenance shrimp. I heard of ppl cutting off a leg per week and just freezing the starfish but I had no luck with that, mines want the starfish alive.. 1 2 1 Quote Link to comment

And yeah my harlequins are funny whenever they get out of their cave to look for food they always do handstands on the tank walls lol 1 Quote Link to comment

I was actually thinking of doing a setup very similar to this. It works well! Keeps the water crystal clear and catches a lot of detritus. I do clean it once a week though. A lot of ppl say they won’t work for reef tanks because they’re “nitrate factories” but essentially everything can be a nitrate factory if you don’t clean it.
