7$ a month for water which isn't bad for the time being.

Very true!

I'm sure you're already thinking along this line but there is a sort of time limit.

A Cyclone 4 RODI system from Air Water and Ice is only $144, just for a good example.

Divide that by $7/month and you have about 20 months until you will have spent as much as you would have on an RODI system of your own.  Seems fair maybe to spend up to half of that time figuring out your plan...after that you're just eating up your budget. 😉👍

Be careful with machines in grocery stores

They often are only rodi and maintenance on them is sketchy.

If I bring my TDS meter and check the water I should be fine, right?

Ya, every time you buy water from a machine.

The stores don't take care of the machines or the filters. That's taken care from outside sources.

Here, the few Walmarts that still have the machines, the machines are serviced by whichever water company install and maintain it and it's all RO water.

If its RO water that is dispensed, it's good for drinking, not a SW tank.

If its RO water, stick with distilled

Thank you for the information. I'll keep that in mind.
