ATO for rimmed tank

Title says it all. I have a simple 10 gallon nano reef and I've been needing a ATO that has a sensor that can mount to a rimmed tank without needing me to lower the water line. Also would prefer not to have to do too much DIY if I can avoid it, but I can stand a little. I've been looking at the hydor ATO currently, but definitely open to other suggestions. Thanks for any help!

I bought the XP Aqua Duetto Dual-Sensor ATO System from @Marine Depot 8 months ago for my 20 gallon and have been more than pleased with it. It's virtually the same thing as the Auto Aqua smart micro ATO but it's a little lower on price.  I used to have an Auto Aqua smart micro ATO awhile back that also performed just as well.

I do really like the aquasmart, however a concern of mine is that I may not be able to fit this sensor around the rim of my tank. May be a stupid question, but will this be an issue for me?

How close to the rim are you trying to go?  I would guess if you put the sensor right against the lip, it would be .5” for the waterline.

That's not too bad. I wanted to not have to see the water line if possible, but that may not be an option

I have a rimmed AIO tank with my aqua duetto, the water level is still completely above the return nozzle. the sensor is in the last chamber with the return pump so the level in that chamber is slightly lower than in the display area which helps.

What tank do you have?

I think the micro ato would be your best bet.  Especially size wise.  You don’t want to able to see anything too big.

No I have a smart ATO/AWC on my #oldschoolpicoreef

the sensors are magnetic and are about the size of a penny. For the price I do enjoy not having to worry about WC I have it set to do 30% weekly (it’s connected to my 160g) C9A1C7BF-2739-4C39-AEA8-9A84AB9BA22C.thumb.jpeg.e7ff1cc2935f5056083e45c2096eb780.jpeg
