Question on Skimmer and New Nuvo Concept Abyss 20gal

Hello all. 

 

I just purchase and and set up my Nuvo Abyss and had a question regarding my skimmer. 

 

As as you can see in the picture it’s in the middle chamber in the back of my tank. Had to disconnect the “Y” from the water pump. 

 

From an experienced point of view is this setup okay?
