Help ID these please. Sponges?

Recommended Posts

I just found two things on my tank I'm not certain about. The first one I discovered as I was redoing my aquascape.

Lives underneath the live rock and it's a hairy white matter. Is this some kind of sponge? Should I do something about it?

Second one I just saw on a small zoanthid colony. Is this a pineapple sponge?

Thanks for your help!

I can't say for the first, but on the second one you're correct. I have the same stuff on my LR, not sure what it even does 🤷‍♂️

Thanks very much, @Joevember and @johnmaloney. Very interesting to learn more about Bryozoans.
