Elizabeth94
Well, just placed an order for a walt disney and green slimer frag. I haven’t had a slimer yet in any of my tanks and I love the look of them. Also gonna test myself with the disney. So we’ll see! Quote Link to comment
Elizabeth94
Got a small order from cultivated reef. My first order with them and I noticed later I was only $12 short for free shipping. They got in contact with me and threw in a rainbow granulosa, thank you! Everything is adjusting to the new T5 bulbs. I only have them on for four hours and I lowered the leds. Im seeing less alk consumption after the change, im thinking its because the leds were turned down. still going to go slow, I don't want to burn anything. I think ill try Leptoseris on the side of this rock. Pretty low light and moderate flow. Superman Tenuis in a new spot. New walt disney just placed in the tank. Love the polyps The always hungry micromussa. Fat Larry. Boss of the tank. 3 Quote Link to comment

Elizabeth94
New pic taken today of walt disney. Am I nuts or do I already see small encrusting growth on the bottom? Tissue around polyps look thicker too. Good signs I guess. Its still in lower light but I better pull it off the plug and mount it soon. 6 days ago Today 3 1 Quote Link to comment

That’s a really nice one. 2 Quote Link to comment
Elizabeth94
Well tank is going through some hair algae issues. Corals are healthy and growing so im not overly concerned. I am not happy with the Tunze refugium light. I like its shape and the fact that its waterproof. But the light output stinks. My cheato was doing better under a $40 amazon light. So my cheato growth stinks and my phosphate rose to .1, when the tank is usually .04. No feeding changes. So now I am probably going to try a cheap grow bulb from the hardware store. EW! 3 Quote Link to comment
Elizabeth94
I placed an order from reefcleaners to refresh my clean up crew. I included some crabs and a lettuce sea slug. Both of which I always avoided. Also have a bundle of corals coming in from TSA’s fourth of July auction. Mostly zoas to get my garden going. And couldn’t resist another stick (pc rainbow). Super excited. But dang this hair algae. Need to get my refugium back up to par. 2 Quote Link to comment
Ash1176
Nice! You got to try what you don’t know sometimes, and get out of the reef comfort zone and discover! Hope the new additions bring wonders. hahaha I’m the same with hermit crabs, what did you get? 1 Quote Link to comment

BUT look at all those colors on the RFAs!!!😍 1 Quote Link to comment

You have a nice selection! I know the hassle of checking and worrying about the extra shells for the crab and the risk of him eating snails are what is keeping me at bay, but they do look awesome! 1 Quote Link to comment
Elizabeth94
Got my corals in from TSA. Hair algae is starting to lighten up in color after a large water change. Still haven’t decided on a refugium light. I need to hurry up on that lol.. Just put these in Rainbow Granulosa getting some color. I have no clue where im going to put this so its probably going to sit on the frag rack. Im thinking medium light. It bleaches out when I put it high. Hammer just looks so nice. Moved this to lower lighting and low random flow. Its definitely opening up more. A list of the new zoas for my record.. 3 Quote Link to comment

Elizabeth94
Literally just got done receiving my reef cleaners shipment. Usps stinks. My box was mangled. Slightly disappointed. I was looking forward to the sea slugs but both were slug soup. Just pieces floating in the bag. Everything else besides one hermit made it I think. Slugs just melted away. Yuck! 2 Quote Link to comment
ninjamyst
how long did it take to arrive? i had really bad luck with reefcleaners. always take 3 days and in the summer, everything gets cooked 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I actually think I lost 2 of the 4 hermits and both slugs. Was really looking forward to the slugs they are super neat. I think im going to call my lfs and see what they have. They don’t usually carry clean up crew. Last time I went the guy was going through their coral displays for snails lol. I think I left with four snails -.- Quote Link to comment
Elizabeth94
Also, but the bullet on another amazon grow light. This time ill be sure the skimmer can’t get it wet if I ever have a freak skimmer overflow. I just don’t want to spend $300 for a grow light. This one claims its waterproof. Has good reviews. Elizabeth94
Lets not be shy. Heres what I am dealing with algae. Stinks. But po4 is down to .06 and the algae is easier to pluck. Hoping that new light for fuge helps and the two new mexican turbos. Moved the pump to back all to free up a view. Walt disney very fuzzy Frag rack looks good. Larry don’t care about no algae. 4 Quote Link to comment
Elizabeth94
That new refugium light is pink pink pink! Don’t mind the gate. Tank was warm so I opened up a door to try and catch the AC. Dog likes to stick his head under there. He is a cutie though. 1 2 Quote Link to comment

Elizabeth94
Still fighting algae. My chaeto was taken over by some other weird algae that doesn’t seem as efficient at removing nutrients. Its dying off but its still there. Killing me. Po4 is consistently reading .06 which looks good but ik theres more in there. Ordered a SantaMonica scrubber. Always wanted to try one. Also couldn’t resist a couple corals. 1 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Good luck with the scrubber! I always have terrible luck with macro algae. I tried a scrubber but could never grow anything but nuisance algae. Same thing when I tried growing chaeto in a reactor, it just got covered with nuisance algae and died off eventually. That walt disney looks very happy, though 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment
Elizabeth94
Thanks. Yeah I am growing everything just fine. But that includes some algae. Im really not having luck with chaeto. But I want to avoid gfo. I killed my first tank using too much. But I was a noob and it was a time when nutrients “should” all be zero. Lol Quote Link to comment
Poison Dart Frog
That Japanese toadstool looks really unique especially if the body is green, not just the polyps. Are you liking the hybrid fixture okay? I ordered 2 ai primes for a new 40 breeder but I want to add the t5 hybrid light after the tank is cycled. Really nice setup you have here. I have always wanted a weeping willow leather, im really excited about this one. I like the fixture a lot. From all the research I did the led/t5 hybrid was the best option for me to supplement my kessils. Especially because this is becoming more of an sps dominant tank. The only thing about the aquatic life fixture I don’t like was having to assemble it. Such a pain. Thanks for the compliment, I do love this tank. Just need more coral! 1 Quote Link to comment
