I’ve actually turned flow down recently.  Running the mp40s at about 55% now.  I was at 75% but some of the acros have really weird flat spots on some of their sides towards the flow.  I am guessing it’s too much flow?  Not really sure.  I’ll see if I can get some photos of what I am taking about when the lights are on.

Interesting. Some point you may need to add a third powerhead for more random flow. I was actually considering hiding a tunze pump on my back wall.

I am considering adding an mp10 on each side of the back wall, but I don’t know if the glass is too thick.  That and I need my frag tank to be able to handle sps so I can get rid of the frag racks in the back.  I keep trying small cheap frags in there and they keep dying.  Just got to let time take it’s course I guess.  6 months running now I think.

Facebook memory popped up today of the tank 1 year ago.  Unfortunately all of my birdsnest colonies died, so you don’t have that growth in the newest photo but still pretty good I think for a years time.

To me, it looks like my red monti is getting some purple in it on the left side.  What do you think?

I think the red/orange variety has ability to pick up some additional coloration if the circumstances are right....whatever this means, lol.  I've had a starburst monti right next to a Cali tort, as in the base flesh for both always exchanging coral slime, but no one ever truly nuked the other - and purple streak like yours started to develop.  I believe it's transferred thru contact.  It also started showing a few tiny green spots randomly in the center of the plate before i broke off the piece and traded it away to LFS (wish I had kept it to see what it turns into tbh). 

 

Now go drop a few tiny bits of that green acros on the red plate for an experiment 😅

Interesting.  It would be awesome if they actually morphed together.  I don’t know how they do it or what colors can go with what.   I have the green and red morph from wwc.

Isn't Sunfire a grafted starburst with the wwc green? I honestly forget what the story was with that one, I just remember it was a graft lol...

It’s the red starburst and whatever the green one is called grafted together.  Green and purple as well.  I think purple and red is a little less common than the other.

Haha!  Yeah, it’s been on the rack for a while.  4” piece.  Trying to sell it for $50 here and still no takers.  I live in hour from KC.  KC people don’t like to travel more than 10 miles for anything though.  At least that’s what I’ve realized living here for 10+ years.
