derf9h
I need to drill 3 holes (all 1.5" diameter) on one end of my tank. The end acrylic is 1/2" and the front and back panels are 3/4". Attached is the picture of what I want to do. Does anyone see any issues with this? Dimensions of the tank are 36" x 9" x 9" ~12.5 gallons Quote Link to comment
watanabeireefer
I have drilled several holes in acrylic with a good hole saw, be sure to have a good center bit and go slow to moderate speed. If they are drain and return holes, you could also always use different size holes, but its whatever you feel works best for your setup! Good Luck. JM Quote Link to comment
derf9h
Thanks, I guess I’m more interested in the spacing of the holes. I’ve drilled glass and acrylic holes in aquariums, but never this close. 1 Quote Link to comment
watanabeireefer
I have drilled holes with one inch spacing in my sump before with no problems. 1 Quote Link to comment
This guy is extra salty
You will have to modify the drillbit so it clears the chips it’s cutting and not melt it. you should’ve had the place you got the acrylic from cut it for you. Quote Link to comment
