Garf
I have been popping out at night to peek at my tank to try and catch something munching on my coraline algae. Tonight I saw a slug like creature with a flat shell in the area, poking around. The nose seemed to fit the areas that had been munched. I pulled it out and dropped it in my fluval V while I researched what it was. Pretty sure I had seen these things before, but not quite this large, about one inch. And fast. Yep, a stomatella. There is really no other algae in my tank for it to feed on, could it be eating the coraline? Quote Link to comment
billygoat
I have not heard of Stomatella snails eating coralline, but it would not surprise me to learn that they would adapt to consume it in the absence of other, more preferable food sources. Snails can be very versatile like that! 1 Quote Link to comment
