dan0788 Posted July 2, 2019 Share Posted July 2, 2019 I have an Aquamaxx 18.1g tank (20"x15"15") that I'm thinking of converting into an AIO. Display would be roughly 15g at 15x15x15. Livestock would be a clown, firefish, maybe a shrimp and softies/LPS. Can I get away with not using a powerhead and just relying on the return pump from the AIO? I can Y the return line and have one on both sides of the false wall to provide more even flow. Im not against a small powerhead if needed but would like to keep the DT free of any equipment if possible. If yes, what GPH would be sufficient on the return pump? Quote Link to comment
Clown79 Posted July 2, 2019 Share Posted July 2, 2019 I run my 10g with no powerhead. I use an upgraded pump and rfg nozzles. It all will depend on what you plan on keeping and other things you choose to employ. Quote Link to comment
