Grantp611
Hey everyone, need some help with an an id for a pretty large starfish that appeared in my moms tank. Wanted to know if it was reef safe or if she should get rid of it or banish it to the sump. He is about the size of a thumbnail. Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment
Joevember
Looks like an asterina, not too big. 1 Quote Link to comment

Never seen one that big or even thought they got that big. Would a big one like that be more prone to nibble on coral? Should it just be removed just in case? Quote Link to comment
ReefCap
Asterina, burn with fire even if it doesn’t touch your corals or else you’ll have 1000 in no time Quote Link to comment

In large numbers they are a great CUC. There are only a few species that acutally harm stuff in your tank. Quote Link to comment
Grantp611
Thank you all for the input! A close eye will be kept on him for now if anything suspicious happens he’ll go to the sump. Thanks again! 1 Quote Link to comment
