Fish77
Hello All, I am new to the saltwater aquarium hobby and have bought my first few critters, they are doing great. I have a 16g aquarium with live rock, live sand. I bought a turbo snail, a zoanthid, and a montipora. My calcium is running high. I have done a water change because I read that can help but my calcium is still way too high. Any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
That dank Reefer
Depends on what the calcium of the new water is. How high is way too high? Quote Link to comment

That dank Reefer
I was using regular instant ocean, I switched to fritz rpm mainly bc of inconsistency with the parameters, but my issue was the alk at about 11.5 ( I keep mine around 9) too much of a swing during wc. So maybe you had a batch with high calc. I’d try testing the freshly mixed salt first to see if that’s the issue 1 Quote Link to comment

I thought if you were using tap water that could be the cause of high ca. Could be just the batch of salt, unfortunately RC doesn't have batch numbers so you can't enquire about the batch results. I haven't read of anything bad happening with high ca, the alk is fine. 1 Quote Link to comment
