Krish87
Hi Friends, I very recently received this Alien Eye chalice, and it is my latest addition to the tank! It is a gorgeous coral. That being said, I wanted to confirm the following - Is the spike-like pattern normal? Or is the coral trying to signal something? My parameters are all good, because the other species are doing fine. Could it just be that the coral is still in settling-down mode? It is only 2.5 days as of this moment! Any pointers would greatly help! Thank you all for your valuable inputs. 1 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
That’s gorgeous, Krish! I don’t know a whole lot about chalices, but I think that looks normal. I love the look of chalices, but I have avoided them in my tank because they can develop really long sweepers. I’m sure you already know, but be sure to give it lots of space. 🤗 1 Quote Link to comment

Most Alien Eye’s tend to look a bit puffier than yours is right now. Keep an eye on it for any exposed skeleton. 1 Quote Link to comment
Krish87
Thanks @banasophia! Yeah, I have mounted them on an elevated rock with a positive hope that they cover the rock completely 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment

mcarroll
Can you give us some specifics on what tank conditions are like now? Your most recent set of test results would help. 1 Quote Link to comment
Krish87
Hi Friends, I wanted to close this one out! That behavior of the Chalice was due to the light shock. I believe my light setting were a tad more than what it was at the LFS. I trimmed down on the intensity, and it's looking better. I tried feeding it y'day, it was a tedious job I must say, but I did notice a small reaction to the food. I'll keep monitoring it and hopefully, it encrusts that rock over the course of time. Again, thanks everyone for your input and help 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
Still interested in tank param's if you are interested in sharing. Alkalinity, phosphates and nitrates in particular. Quote Link to comment
