Hi, sorry

Another what is this? Have had a look around online but no real idea. The front and one of the sides of the tank is fairly full of these. The one in the first video is the largest (2mm) and most active, it has quite a nice burrow at the moment

It behaves like an amphipod..... the way it rolls over and lays on its back.

Thanks. Its been doing that since I spotted it at 10am. It has made a quite extensive tunnel system so far right up against the glass.

They are fun to watch. Mine dig tunnels and fight each other most of the day. 😄

It's a ballsy little bugger. I put my finger near it to see what would happen. Looked to me that it was attacking my finger

Anyways, now need these to breed like crazy before I introduce a Goby. Haha

Even if it were an isopod, it would be the harmless variety based on how it is able to ball up its body.

Did not know that they could be harmful? I assume some sort of Parasite or a Predatory version?

I was more interested in trying to work out what it was, like Munnid, Cirolanid etc.

Thanks for the reassurance though

I believe the Cirolanid Isopods are parasitic and will attack the fish at night (usually).

🙂 Glad you don't have the parasitic type though, that would be a pain to catch.
