Spaghetti worm or aiptasia?

Neb

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Today I have noticed random tentacles coming out under the mushroom coral. At first I thought its an amphipod hatchery, but when I got the camera and zoomed in for a better view, it looked a lot like a baby aiptasia or a spaghetti 🍝 worm.. I cant decide.

Posting a few photos with a a hyper zoom (sorry about the quality) hoping someone can successfully identify what this is.

Good photos @Neb! It definitely doesn't look like an aiptasia anemone, I suspect it's a harmless spionid worm, a common hitchhiker found in healthy tanks.

Hey,

thanks for the reply. I have been observing the creature and it doesn’t seem to disturb the mushroom at all. It does look like a spionid worm indeed.
