Qball77
So I’ve noticed recently that my calcium has been trending downward (450-430) and my dkh is trending upward (7-9). I have not been dosing with anything in my biocube 16 and the rest of my parameters are stable. Any thoughts? Quote Link to comment
jservedio
Most likely scenario is just the salt mix - it may not have been totally homogeneous. As long as it's happening over the course of a few weeks, it's nothing to be concerned about. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
What salt are you using? What is the magnesium level- if low it can cause imbalance with ca and alk Also as 1 increases, the other decreases because ca and alk work together, that's why many recommend when dosing use 2 part additives so both stay balanced. To really know what's going on: First test magnesium. Test newly mixed Sw Test the tank after a waterchange to see the target numbers. Then test ca and alk everyday. Quote Link to comment
Qball77
Mag is 1350. I’m using instaocean reef crystals. I was using live nutri seawater but it got expensive doing weekly water changes. The corals seem to be doing better with the new salt. I’m guessing that I’m getting worried too soon 1 Quote Link to comment
