Qball77
So I’m almost 4 months in on a biocube 16. I’ve been seeing and reading about people who are putting macroalgae in their display tank. I’m just looking for any pros/cons of doing this. Currently I have a clown fish and a yellow goby. CUC is 6 cerith, 4 nassarius, 1 emerald crab. Corals are 1 hammer, 1 torch, 1 pavona, 1 monti cap, 1 sarco, 3 zoas, 1 favia, 1 Aussie lord, and an elegance. Sp.- 1.026 cal.- 440 dkh.- 8.7 mag.-1350 nitrite- 0 amm- .25 nitrate- 20 phos- 0 ph- 8? Ratvan
What do you want to Macro to do? Look pretty? Nutrient export? Both Quote Link to comment
Qball77
Both but I don’t want it taking over either. Just have some red gracilarius and green finger algae for a start 1 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Well I havent killed either of those two yet. I wouldnt "plant" them, as I found out they dont have roots so the buried section quickly dies, if you dont spot it quickly it can get messy. Superglue it to rubble and treat it like a coral. Move it around the tank until it looks settled and leave it or glue it. If that's the same Codium as I got, mine is in my HOB. My hermit likes to eat it and uproot it daily. Doing fine back there.
