Snow_Phoenix
Illaron: Mercury the ruby is difficult to film - he's still not used to me coming up too close against the glass and swims away. I'll try to take pics of him when he lets his guard down. 😊👍 4 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Thinking of refreshing my CUC list as soon as I'm able. Maybe... 6x to 8x turban smails 2x tuxedo urchins 3x nassarius snails 3x hermit crabs 1x *abalone (<--- these guys are quite rare & very expensive, but they're excellent at mowing down film algae. May/may not get one) 1x or 2x spider decorator crabs (needed to seed macro for the fuge) 🤔 3 Quote Link to comment

They will eat display macro including caulerpa & sometimes chaeto though. If you're looking for something to control bubble algae, you can try emerald crabs. Hope this helps. 👍 Had an emerald, he didn't last long for some reason and didn't touch the bubble algae. Just looking at options before getting another one. I can get a nice red Tuxedo for $30 Canadian delivered or an emerald for 20. Could put the Tuxedo in my sump on occasion to clean up there as well if the DT runs low on algae. I'm probably just trying to talk myself into getting one 😄. But I do appreciate your input, thanks. 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Managed to get some shots of Mercury today: Also, Foxy: Tried to take a pic of Bullet the Christmas wrasse, but the camera kept focusing on the wrong fish. 😕 : 2 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Took a quick peek at the tank today. Still debating if I should get the blenny, and if I do, whether I can get it home delivered. 🤔 Poseidon: Nero: Mercury (zoomed in pic, sorry for poor quality) : 2 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Just came into my room, turned the lights & spotted Reggie crawling out in the open: Omg. So I made a split second decision. Grabbed a chair, a pair of metal forceps & took a bucket from my bathroom. He did try to dive into the sandbed when I tried to pince him. But I eventually caught him, dropped him into the bucket and also nearly threw up all over him: 🤢🤢🤢 When he's all compressed and curled up like this, he doesn't look too big, but I have seen this guy stretch beyond 12" in the tank, and ew! He's thick and so bristly too. 🤢 I didn't know what to do, so I called my dad for help. Dad packed Reggie up in a plastic bag, secured it with a rubber band, and tossed Reggie-in-a-bag out into our main waste disposal bin outdoors. So now, he's Reggie-in-a-bin. I'm not going to miss him, but I have a feeling I'm going to be squeamish for a bit. Had to sterilize the bucket with boiling hot water, dish soap, antibacterial handwash & dettol too. 4 Quote Link to comment
PeterU
It's hard for me to tell how big he actually is from those pictures. I had 2 big ones in my 20H, one stuck it's head out too far at the wrong time so I removed it, the other is still there. The attached pic shows it in a 1 cup measuring cup. 2 Quote Link to comment

Mine is green with red & white bristles. I initially thought he was a ragworm, but now I'm not so sure. 🤔 Quote Link to comment

Not sure where this large one came from, but I assumed it hitchiked on something and started growing bigger than usual. My rocks are all from Indo-Pac region though. Gah, I don't like worms. 😕 I know they're beneficial detritivores, but they can be quite unsightly. 1 Quote Link to comment

I have lots and don't normally remove them but this one was bigger than my 2 tiny fish. 3 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
I have one that was about 8 inches in my old 20 gallon a few months ago. Funny enough it was the first worm that I caught in my new trap 😄 2 Quote Link to comment

chipz
Ewwww, creepy! It sounds like the reward for catching Reggie should probably be a new blenny. I'm waiting for my LFS to get a tsb in stock right now. 1 Quote Link to comment

(Although, really, I do have the exact amount in my wallet to purchase that blenny, but I'm cringing every time I think about it because the TSB is literally more expensive than a 3" juvi blue diamond discus atm. ) I'm not sure if it is worth it. Might as well hold on to the money & wait for a starry blenny to pop up in stock. 😕 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
My secondary LFS just had some fish come in today, by the updates on their FB page online. *Might pick up 1 or 2 new fish. Pretty much jostling between these 3 options: Randall's goby, Singapore angel & Sixline wrasse. *Might also pick up a tiny clown, but that'll will go into the nanoreef, not this tank. Still uncertain. 🤔 Quote Link to comment
