Literally across the city from me, but when I am allowed to I am taking a tour of the growing facility as well as picking up an order. My issue with Macro is that I can only seem to keep either Macro or the Coral happy not both in the same tank Maybe because the spectrum required for macro growth (and nutrient requirement as well) is different between the two. I'm actually using a 15W blue/white LED clip-on light over my fuge which was listed for FW. It's surprisingly bright. I've forgotten the brand though. Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Also guys - I was doing some late night research/shopping for filter media for my FW tank. I'm not really familiar with this site, although it's very popular among locals here. And out of curiousity, I tried to find marine-aquarium-related stuff, to see if I could get those too. Through some sheer stroke of luck, I actually found 3 listings from a vendor up north that actually sells IM tanks. (ZOMGOSH!!!) 😮 I didn't even know any IM products were available in Msia. They're very expensive, but they have the IM 10, IM 20 & IM Nuvo Concept Abyss Panorama for sale. https://shopee.com.my/Innovative-Marine-Nuvo-Fusion-Nano-20-Aquarium-i.242241308.4633158187 https://shopee.com.my/Innovative-Marine-Nuvo-Fusion-Nano-10-Aquarium-i.242241308.7333156209 https://shopee.com.my/Innovative-Marine-NUVO-Concept-Abyss-Panorama-Aquarium-i.242241308.4633158189 The concept abyss tank actually looks pretty badass. The price is way too steep though. But still, cool. I've always admired drop-off tanks. My favorite was this L-shaped double-drop-off tank that I saw very long ago online. Not sure if I still have the pics saved on my phone (I tried googling and couldn't find it), but that tank was beautiful, and the concept was pretty neat. 1 Quote Link to comment

Strangely during the Pico contest my Macro looked great under a cheap Nicrew Freshwater light, 12 whites, 6 blue LEDS. It was the off, white, whites and blues options. It's making me consider building a sumped pico to keep my sanity, maybe with the UK Stimulus vouchers? 2 Quote Link to comment

I actually take free macro trimmings from my LFS's sumptank. They have so much excessive macro and keep getting rid of it every week. I'm not too fussy - I straight up ask if I can have some, and they give it to me FOC. It's usually fern and grape caulerpa though. *Although they did give me this *mysterious red macro, a small pinch of dragon's breath and some red cotton candy as well. No complaints on my end - I love stock/re-stocking my fuge. There's a *lot of hitchikers in the new macro that I bring in - and a lot of new pods too. 🤷♀️ 3 Quote Link to comment

Thought of picking up a yellow tipped neon GBTA for the reef, but I'm still giving it a lot of thought. Nem in concern is this one on the right of the pic - the left one is a premium ultra red: Pic credit to my LFS. 👍 3 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Update #3 : Corals. I decided to use an *orange clip-on lens filter today, just for a change. It does neutralize the blues quite a fair bit, and brings out the yellow & orange hues in the corals - which gives them a strong *pop! Pics with & without the filter lens: 4 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #4 : Moar corals! 😊 I think the orange filter lens is too strong. It certainly gives off a cartoonish feel to some of the pics, and warps some of the colors: But it was excellent in nailing the colors of my pearl bubble coral: And my cynarina & yuma shroom corals in the previous post. Yes, those colors were quite close to what I see in person when I stare at these corals in my tank. 🤔 The bubble coral colony had too much of an orangish hue to it, but it does have green/purple streaks in real life. I think a yellow lens filter would be more than adequate for filming it. 👍 4 Quote Link to comment

All great photo's though. 2 Quote Link to comment

All great photo's though. Yeah. Even if there is too much blue, the pics look more realistic that way. I think I'll stick on to using the yellow lens filter. It neutralizes *some of the blues (not all of it), but it also doesn't make the corals look oversaturated or cartoonish. 🤔 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Update #2: Corals. 🤗 Found this poor green blastos upside down in the sandbed - I think my urchin must have knocked it over: 🙄 Some of the heads are shrunken and half-melted, but I'm hoping it'll recover in time. 👍 This is the slowest-growing chalice in my reef: 🙄 I love it though, because it keeps changing colors. At one stage it had blue streaks and yellow *eyes. Now the streaks are a darker shade of green, and the eyes are lime green. 🤔 Also, this wasn't exactly the wisest addition I've made to this tank, but I've had this frag for a long time: It used to be more green though. Now it only has green centers, and is otherwise brown. Bet it's rich in palytoxins too. Can't exactly scrape it off because it has already encrusted to my rockwork. 😕 3 Quote Link to comment

A.m.P
Loved watching the zebra dartfish popping in and out of holes, definitely see how difficult those buggers are - seem to be extremely picky- entire piles of pellets around them but they only go for the right size, shape, and orientation leaving the rest behind. 2 Quote Link to comment

Yep, they're super picky! I usually leave the pumps off for 1+ hour, and eventually they finish most of it. I'm not sure what exactly makes them favor *one pellet over the other, especially when I've been giving them the same two types every day. 🤔 2 1 Quote Link to comment
