Snow_Phoenix
Update #2: Thanos loves this new spot next to the pink yuma lately: Odin: Poseidon: Quick update on my new angelfish in the QT - she's doing well, but has (suspected) flukes and internal parasites: I don't find this too surprising, given that she was just wild-caught. Currently treating her with prazi, and feeding a mix of frozen BBS and spirulina-enriched pods. 🤗👍 4 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Getting a second light soon, so hopefully these guys will finally stop stretching: Thanos on the lookout for trouble: Bella eating & exploring: 😊 Pearl bubble swaying up close: 🤗 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Finally got my second light today! 😊 I haven't set the auto-timings yet, but I did set it manually. Looks good so far - combined with my Prime, the spread is excellent and there are no longer any shadows in the corners of the tank: Hoping to see some growth and improved coral colors in the future. 👍 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #1: I took a lot of pics today - mostly because I was excited about the new light, and how the increased spread stopped most of my shrooms from stretching, and also allowed my LPS to *open wider and look puffier. 🤗 My cynarina was especially happy, and very, very puffy today (spread out to obscure the frag plug below it completely) : 🤗 Some of my yumas: 🥰 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #2: The other shrooms looked great under the new Prime-InLed combo too: 😊 Superman shroom: Tricolored rhodactis (hopefully this one will color back up - it used to have red spots) : Green rhodactis + red discosoma combo: Green hairy shroom - was very shriveled, but opened back up today: 👍 Bubbles! : 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #3: Pearl bubble coral: The fish look 👍 too under the dual-lights. Here is Tic & Poseidon: Tux hard at work: And this thing is getting huge - will need to eradicate it soon: 🤔 3 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Morning! Someone had a good molt overnight: 😄 The dragonets were also up and about very early today: Poseidon admiring his reflection in the glass: 😄 3 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update! Follow-up on how all the corals are doing under the new light - they appear to be adapting very well. The cynarina looks even more puffy today than it was yesterday evening, which is a good sign. 👍 : My pink yuma actually looks neon orange now: 😅 Rainbow yuma was very wide and spread out: The fish appear to be comfortable with the extra light too. No jumping so far, touch wood. Here's Thanos after binging on some pellets: And Miu taking refuge under my large bubble coral: I'm not sure if I should rev up the blues on both lights. Maybe I'll scale it up a little, next month, but for now, I'm content to let it remain as it is. 5 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Seems like the new light is really making every thing fluff up nicely. It really looks nice. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks! I still haven't figured out how to set the timing on auto-schedule though. Every time I try to set it, it falls back on manual - so I think there's a button/tab somewhere that needs to be tapped to save the timing. Otherwise, I'm currently turning the lights on and off manually, which is a bit of a pain since I have to disconnect from the home wi-fi, reconnect to the light wi-fi, open up the app, tap the manual setting, then exit the app, disconnect from the light and reconnect to my home wi-fi for internet. 😕 I'll try to google it up - it's a shame this thing didn't come with a manual or something. My LFS is more than happy to help me out though. They said if there are any issues with the light, just bring it straight back to them and they'll try to fix it/figure out what went wrong. It's a shame they're moving away though. 😞 2 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
From all your posts that LFS sounds so helpful. Is their new location very far away? 3 Quote Link to comment

They have been my LFS since I first joined the hobby around ~10 years ago. They have a second shop around 45km++ away - the road leading to that shop is difficult and quite frankly, a bit confusing. The drive is also tedious because that road is a two-laned main highway leading to the southern most tip of the state, and is constantly flooded with vehicles. It's not an easy drive by any means, and usually either my mother or father takes me there around 3 to 4 times a year. That second shop is really awesome though. They're currently renovating it to make it look like a loft, with all the aquariums full of fish and corals 'downstairs', and the dry equipment 'upstairs'. The manager of that shop is a very good friend of mine, and he gives me some really good discounts on stuff. The frags are pretty cheap too, if you know what to pick and where to look. I can't wait for them to re-open that store. But I am a bit sad that they're closing this one near my home. This was my first ever SW LFS. So many memories were made here. I'll definitely miss it when it's gone. 7 minutes ago, Ratvan said: Wow those Yumas look incredible Thanks, Ratvan! 🙂 I'm planning on picking up a couple more - I saw a few color morphs (that I don't have yet) on sale at my secondary LFS today. 4 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Can you spot Goblin? 🤗 : Miko peeking: Bullseye rhodactis shroom: Hope this trumpet coral can pop out more heads now - I like it very much: 😊 A conference over the cup coral: 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Forgot to add - I got a Halloween hermit for this tank yesterday! 😊 I named him Hermes. And when I first plopped him into the tank, I accidently dropped him directly into the mouth of my cynarina (oops!). Quickly pulled him out of the coral and set him on the sandbed. He's officially the most expensive hermit crab I've ever purchased, but I love him already. 🤗 P.S. I've had halloween hermits before, but they used to be *way cheaper before the pandemic. 😔 5 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Guess who showed up in the fuge while I was topping off the water? 🤗 And yep, he still has the green thread on one of his back legs: 😅 And my macro + pest algae: 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Here's a topview of Spyder: All that red pretty much gave him away lol. But honestly, he looks pretty cool up close: 😊 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
He can go motionless as well - I think the 'freezing' is a defense mechanism against predators, although he's poorly camouflaged against all that green macro because he loves red things a *bit too much: 😅 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
I introduced a pair of ruby dragonets to the reef today: The female is actually a bit thin and supersmall at ~1.5" only - even my tangaroa goby is larger than her: She's also not too stable, and has been breathing hard from the get-go, so I am quite worried. The first 24 hours is always tricky, and I truly hope she makes it through her first night in the tank. 😔 My male was much better and active within an hour of introduction: I noticed Bella & Poseidon were very, very curious over the new dragons and kept checking them out (note the size difference between the different species) : Skip ahead a few hours later and my male (I named him Icarus) had settled at the edge of my giant bubble coral: 👍 1 2 Quote Link to comment
