It looks kind of cool! liking it. Is that a fountain pump that you pulled the hose attachment out of?

Yes, and paired white with krylon fusion

Looks good! Give it some time to "mature" - it'll be a great tank!

lol

I just did a roughly 70%water change, and ordered a microscope off of amazon. It should be here tomorrow. Will hopefully know for sure then.

However, it smells like dinos

Most recently, people try to avoid water changes when battling dinos.

Awesome!  I've wanted one for awhile.

I know the recent thought is to avoid water changes (and to potentially increase nutrients). But I decided that It probably would not hurt to do one water change today and if I get a positive ID tomorrow that it is Dino’s I’ll hold off on water changes, do a black out period, then work on increasing microbiodiversity and nutrients.

What... do Dino's smell like lol? Also maybe it's the camera, my eyes, my inexperience, or my phone, but I don't see any... Unless those are little bubbles on the rocks? Maybe Cyano, probably best not to make bets from my phone. Hope it turns out to be something harmless.

The photo I took was after I sucked out all of the algae and cleaned the glass

The other nice thing about water changes is you can manually remove a good chunk of them, which buys you time.

Personally- getting my tank dirtier was the trick to killing the dino's recently, but I was also really sure that a sudden drop in my nutrients was what caused them in the first place. If that's not really apparent to you, I don't know if I'd take that approach.

Nice tank- by the way! sorry you're dealing with this.

The algae has definitely gotten better post water change, but you can still see some of it on the left glass pane.

Here are some shots of the tank from tank.

Even with the algae on the side, this tank is looking so colorful and nice already!

Thanks!

I will hopefully get my nanobox tide in this week, as I feel my coral (all came from my RSR nano) looked better under the Nanobox spectrum.

For some reason my salinity is slowly drifting down, which makes me concerned that I have some sort of leak..... I wouldn’t know how else to explain it

Salt creep?

I don’t see any and I looked everywhere, The only other thing I can think of is back siphoning into the ATO container, but the fresh and salt tanks share the same ATO so I feel like the fresh would have problems with brackish top off

Have you checked the specific gravity of the top off water?

I will when I get home, I am working overnight tonight

Tank is looking great.

Did you confirm dino's?

I have it in my 2.5g, slowly dying off now.

Had them in my 25g...super fun stuff.

It was, but they are mostly gone now.
