Karkanor Posted April 4, 2019 Share Posted April 4, 2019 Hello, So I got this coral about two weeks ago and it still has not opened. When I feed my other corals I can see it swell up in the center and then retract again. Any ideas as to what this is and how to get it to open. I’ve tried two different spots for it with about 4 days at each spot to let it adjust. Water parameters: ammonia/nitrite:0 Nitrate: <1 calcium: was low around 350 but I brought it back up over a few days to 410-420 alkalinity: was also low but is now up around 10 salinity: 1.026 Quote Link to comment

Clown79 Posted April 4, 2019 Share Posted April 4, 2019 Trumpet coral. Was it ever open? What is your normal target alk? Increasing it quickly can cause as much issues as being too low? Also what was the number when you consider it low? Quote Link to comment
