chickendude10
Hi everyone, I’ve had my Nuvo 10 up for 4 months now. My euphyllia all seem to be doing well — one branch has started 6 tiny heads off the main stalk. I also have a piece of hynophora up high that is vibrant and usually extended. Ive gone through a couple pieces of Acan, however, that don’t extend in my tank. I also have some favites that have slowly been losing color and fading away. I’ve tried a couple different locations for variation in lighting and flow with no real success. Any ideas on why acans and favites might not be doing well? Pics: Hammers and one acan when it was first added Same acan now—does not extend Specs: Nuvo 10 AI Prime+ No chemical filtration Weekly 2 gallon WC Alk 7-8 Calc 480 Mag 1500 Nitrates 1 Quote Link to comment
Firefish15
Have you been feeding the corals? Both of those species benefit from added food. 1 Quote Link to comment
burtbollinger
Any shrimp in tank? alk swing? acans can also just be weird sometimes Quote Link to comment
chickendude10
I try to feed the acans and hammers once a week with mysis. The acans used to readily pull them in but now ignore the shrimp. Only inhabitant right now is a yasha hasha goby. Alk Swing could be an issue. It usually varies from 8 after a WC to 7 at the end of the week. Is this enough to upset the coral? Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Too much light on some acan and definitely favorite can cause them to not expand. Alk swings definitely can cause issues with lps. Quote Link to comment
