Does the mini 10w aqueon heater have a thermostat? Or is it like most betta heaters and "keeps the tank 5-10 degrees above ambient temperature"...Cause it might just be stuck always on...

Or does it say "preset to 78" because I was looking at these the other day and I don't think they're preset with a thermostat

This is good to know. I was starting to think about a cooling solution yesterday

It doesn't have anything you can change, it is just all enclosed.  I am just going to take it out and try to find a small heater that will fit in the ac50.  You are probably right because our house temp is about 76 because we haven't cut any air on yet.

What kind of heater were you using again?

My heater is the small aqueon as well.

After some reading, those heaters appear to have no thermostat. They are designed to heat the water above room temp, and won't shut off at 78. You'll need a heater with a thermostat, or, you can use one of these. You plug the heater into this temperature controller, and put the probe in your water, when the temp hits 78, the temperature controller cuts off the power to your heater

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Inkbird-ITC308-Digital-Temp-Controller-110V-Temperature-Sensor-Thermostat-Switch/322059258645?hash=item4afc3a4b15:g:Ig8AAOSwjvxbOxpL:sc:ShippingMethodStandard!90290!US!-1&frcectupt=true

This particular temperature controller will not only cut off the power to your heater, but you can plug a fan into it, and it will turn a fan on blowing at your tank when the temperatuire gets too high

I like your fuge light! I found one of these yesterday, think I'm gonna go try to find another one today. Not where the cords will actually go, @This guy is extra salty already teased me about the "fire hazard" 🤣

That little led display in blue would look good somewhere stuck in there with velcro.

If anyone hasn’t yet bought a heater, the Marina C10 is one of the few tiny 10w heaters available that has a preset thermostat temp of 78. Downfalls include a non adjustable thermostat and it may not be exactly 78, I have 3 of these in 2 gallon Fluval spec tanks and they each have a slightly different temp ranging from 76.6-77.9. They do seem pretty stable as long as you don’t have a huge temperature swing in the room.

I’m happy to take pics of one in the AC 50 filter this evening if it helps
