Want to pick up an airstone and pump (double stone) and hook that up with my rotifier culture 1 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
So half of my Coral Order is booked in for Friday this week, the other half I am still waiting on a delivery date. I was concerned about adding all the frags at once so it's nice that its worked out this way. The Aiptasia in a Jar has let go of the rock and seemingly attached itself to the glass jar.... Terrible photo 3 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Photo's from today. Benny is a lot more active lately. I see him all over the tank at all levels. Still perches but swims more now Ricordea Yuma's looking nice and Puffy, also lots of Dusters? Close on the Dusters Duncan, whatever it is up to? My unidentified "Corals" Fluorescent object now has another "nodule" also the thing next to it is developing a lightning bolt pattern 4 Quote Link to comment
seabass
It’s nice to see natural light pics! Things are looking good. Can’t wait to see it with more coral. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thank you, it has been pretty bright here so I have been waiting for lights off to take photographs. The Natural sunlight messes with my phones settings when the blues are on. I could play around with the settings but cant really be bothered as I have to change them back to photograph anything else. I have some maintenance to do tomorrow which I will do when dipping the new corals, starting to see GHA cropping up here and there so need to replenish my CUC so need to pick that off the rocks. Wish I knew what the lightning bolt sponge thing was and excited to see if that tiny "Coral" becomes anything. Other half of the order is arriving a week tomorrow, might see if i can get some Stomatella's and more Brittle Stars added to the order 2 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Well coral delivery taken. Got a free zoa frag. And a hitch hiker that I hope is a Stomatella. The Red Disco, Tiger Tamarin Discosoma and the Purple Yuma are a lot smaller than I first thought. I cant get my phone take recognise the colour but is gorgeous. Waiting for them to settle into the tank before I try and remove them from the plugs (most have Live Rock that I can prise free - the plugs are useful for the dipping however) Also found another freebie, 100g of Zoa Feast Foods, that will last my 3 new polyps a while 4 Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Nice looking Zoa Frag, let me see how long it'll take for me to kill it. Also picked up a Trocus snail for the Pico, 2x Trocus and a Red Legged Hermit for the 5.5G 2 Quote Link to comment

These were Jbs Marines again, I have another order from Zoamarines arriving next week with all the fancy Ricordea Morphs. I do enjoy a freebie, and I still do like Zoas plus getting a coral food was quiet cool as well The Stomatella that came in (along with a tonne of Bristel Stars) basically has made me cancel the order i was going to place for the CUC lol I have also asked him to keep an eye out for "pests" for me so I can set up a pest tank (and not use a coffee jar lol) 2 Quote Link to comment

It might even seem like it might be good to use in our reef tanks. However, it's basically tap water from the specified source(s). It doesn't list some of the less desirable elements like phosphate, copper, arsenic, etc. I'm not saying that it contains dangerous levels of these elements, or that it's bad to use; however, it's an unknown risk. In some areas, people can use tap water. But as a rule, we generally recommend not using it. 2 Quote Link to comment

New water container for storage (from water dispenser) makes getting my RODI out easier 😄 I do still want to try out mineral water in a tank, maybe in that Aiptasia Jar.... Anyways. Photo's. Really like taking Daylight with Office Lighting photos at the moment. Checked that snail this morning, seems fine. Just resting from the work on the rock in front of him. Going to give it a hand with the GHA today (pull, pluck and scrub) New Additions starting to open, they will get the second dip today. Benny checking out if he's going to get more food. The answer was yes, you get more food Benny. Love this Yuma Duncan still doing Duncan things 3 Quote Link to comment
Wonderboy
I'm just noticing the rack you added to keep the rocks off the glass; I like that idea. Looking forward to seeing the additions happy soon. That duncan does look pretty upset to me though; planning to dip that guy, too? Benny is so cool; usually the little fish don't get to show off their personalities like the bigger fish get to so often - these little setups give them a rare oppurtunity. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I build a few of those. They're pretty useful. I have two or three in my 5.5G to get some height on the rocks while still leaving plenty of hiding places and keeping costs down. Yeah the Duncan has been dipped and I scrubbed off the GHA? from the base/plug. It keeps looking like it's going to pop out new heads, then not, then new heads, etc. Not sure what is up with it. I love Benny, he really is a character. Currently keeping the New Zoas closed however Dont think he likes Zoa's, look at that face!! 1 2 Quote Link to comment
Wingy
I see the new heads on the Duncan. Mine took a while to pop out too. You could try feeding it. Mine loves a combination of reef roids, zoo plankton and phyto plankton that I mix up and target feed. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Honestly I must take close to 50 photo's of him in a day. I love Betta fish but this guy has so much more personality. Blues are on so here are my randoms again, Fluorescent Nodule growing larger This thing is merging with others on the rock 😶 4 Quote Link to comment

Maybe a Chicken Liver Sponge? Not sure but closest I've found so far. Yeah I'm going to try and dig it out, frag plug and raise it. Make it grow Quote Link to comment
Wonderboy
Yeah, I was looking at it thinking with some careful perimeter scoring and a quick pry, you should be able to pop some rock with the little nodule off and glue it to a plug. 1 Quote Link to comment
Proxo
That looks like a purple alien :D. did you get that from chernobyl? 😄 2 Quote Link to comment

Thanks will give that a go tomorrow. I think it's actually acan skeleton (definitely coral skeleton on shelf rock) so that may make things easier/harder depending on the crumble. 2nd half of mushroom delivery arriving Thursday. 1 Quote Link to comment
